It was a happy day in the land of Alan, Mr and Mrs Jackson welcomed Lucas a baby boy to the world after 10 years without any offspring.
Gun shots filled the air to notify his birth. It was a remarkable day.
Lucas grew up to become a great engineer well known in the community. His popularity got to him, he became boastful of himself. Nobody in the community dared talk to him in a manner he didn't want.
You will have to lick his feet before you can get him to help you. These continued for years, his parents advised him several times to drop the attitude. He never listened to their advice. They grew old and left the world.
This made him move to his parents house to maintain it, this was to fullfil his parents last wish.
He lived close to his cousin's house, he was not in good terms with his cousin because his cousin wasn't giving him the respect he demanded.
His cousin James stayed in his lane avoiding anything that will connect him to Lucas. Yes they were related but they don't think alike,so the best thing for him was to respect himself in other not to cause trouble.
James was not very rich but on the average, he is a chef and always cook and deliver food to people.
One day Lucas went to work, because of his attitude he didn't follow instructions given to a minor in the field. As he was working on a building, he slipped and fall from a two-storey building.
He stayed in hospital for months before recovery. He spent a lot of money on hospital bills.
He was badly injured he was advised by his doctor on discharge not to do much work again.
He can only do little for himself, he employed a care taker who was so kind to him.
Despite the incident, Lucas never changed his attitude still boastful of himself.
This brought issues between him and his care taker, his care taker who couldn't take his attitude any more left him.
He searched for a replacement but nobody answered him, almost everybody knows of his bad attitude.
Lucas was left alone in his frustration.
Lucas stayed for days without food, one evening he decided to go out and look for what to eat.
Immediately he left his house, he perceived a sweet aroma outside. He used his nose to trace it, then he noticed it was coming from his cousin's house.
He didn't know what to do, he was so hungry and the aroma was tempting.
He knocked at his cousin's house, nobody was around. He must have gone to deliver food he thought to himself.
He thanked his stars, it was a lucky day for him. He slowly entered his cousin's house without making a single sound.
He checked his kitchen and was glad the food was still hot.
He scooped food from the pot and started eating, he ate it in a hurry and left his cousin's house.
He got to his house sweating profusely, looked for water and drank.
His cousin James came back and noticed the mess that happened in his kitchen, He wondered what must have happened.
He sensed it was someone that did it.
He promised himself to catch the thief if the person comes back again.
The next day Lucas waited for evening to come, he have found a place to feed himself.
He listened carefully and heard when his cousin left the house in a hurry to deliver food.
He nodded his head and quietly went to his cousin's house. He looked around called his name, nobody answered.
He removed plate and served himself, as he was about to eat.
People from nowhere started entering his cousin's house.
He was caught in the act, people were staring at him. He was so ashamed,he knelt down and started apologizing saying he was tempted to eat the food, and he had nobody to care for him.
They told him to change his attitude with that he won't be suffering on his own, besides James is his family and will be willing to help him only if he can amend his ways.
