The Ink well prompt #61 : Just for few days

Cassie was in a deep sleep early in the morning when her younger sister woke her up.
"hey sis, wake up Uncle Jim is here".
This pissed her up.
"what is it this time around" she murmured.
She dragged herself out from bed, wore her jacket.
"Good morning Uncle" she greeted her Uncle.
Her Uncle didn't respond to her greeting, her mum was sitting close to her sister.
"Good morning mum" she greeted her mother.
"Ooooh is even now you're waking up, so you haven't seen your mother"
"Have you checked the time, your mates are all up doing one thing or the other"
"How will a man marry you with this attitude of yours" her uncle yelled.
It wasn't the first time she hears this type of morning yell and attitude. She looked for a place to sit, she saw a chair.
She pulled it to sit, then her uncle yelled again.
"did we tell you to sit?" he said.
Cassie sensed that today was going to be more tougher, she wanted to attach her strategy by talking back at her uncle. She waved the idea, is too early to waste such strength "it will soon end", she said to herself.
Her uncle continued with his normal yelling.
As she stood there she was thinking of what the whole fuss by her uncle was all about.
How is she not married a big deal now?.
Is not as if she haven't married before.

Her marriage with Alex failed due to Alex attitude. They never agreed on a thing.
The one she couldn't tolerate was when she was pregnant Alex treated her like thrash. He started sleeping with other women, he never feared or had a little conscience he brought them to their matrimonial home.
Cassie endured it until she gave birth to Ruby, then she walked out from the marriage.
Alex didn't waste time he got married to another lady, leaving Cassie to care for Ruby. He even denied the baby.
Luckily for Cassie she got a job in a pharmacy which paid her well. This she used to take care of herself and Ruby. She could carry Ruby to the pharmacy as she works, her boss was so good to her.

All these are what her Uncle refused to understand and accept. He thinks she was just a bad child to her poor mother, whom his brother left in the world with two girls to care for.
She have seen things in life, so she pays little attention to how her uncle sees her.
Her mother have explained the situation several times to Uncle Jim, but seeing that he is stubborn and only takes what he thinks.
She just left him and played along knowing that he will get tired one day and come to his senses.

"I will be going now Gift" he told Cassie's mother.
"Okay, Sir Jim thank you for coming and do take good care of yourself"
"my regards to your wife and children" Gift said.

"your morning alarm came early today" Gift said laughing.
Cassie and her sister Tammy joined her to laugh.
"let me prepare for work" Cassie said.

months later

Cassie came back from work that day with a sad face, she was transferred to a new place to work in the new branch far from home.
She informed her mother of the sudden change. Her mother suggested she leave Ruby with her and come back every weekend or when she's not on duty to see them.
Cassie accepted leaving Ruby with her mother.
When she got to her new place of work, it was nice she loved it.

They exchanged numbers, talked on phone,he visits Cassie often in the pharmacy. The relationship grew to a numerous times of dates.
Smith proposed to her and she agreed to marry him.
Cassie hid Ruby from Smith, she was afraid it could drive him if he know of her past.
She pleaded her mum and sister not to tell Smith that Ruby is her daughter but her sister.

On the day of her wedding she was very happy, she is getting married again and to the man of her dreams because she took time to study him.
She feared the truth from resurfacing. She feared every step and speech made by her uncle.
She prayed to God to just cover the truth for that day, she promised to tell Smith some days after the wedding.
She feared the truth ruining her wedding, bringing shame to her on the big day.

Heavens heard her cry and made the wedding to end joyfully.
