IT'S ALMOST PERFECT.

ALMOST PERFECT

"Sophia! Get your tiny ass in here!" The voice boomed.

A girl in her early twenties appeared at the door way. Her hair was in an unusual updo– spiky and wet as though she had just left the shower.

"What?" Came her voice as she took in the enraged face of her twin brother. With one look, you could see the mirth twinkling in her eyes as she tried over excessively to keep the facade of innocence.

"Don't what me. What did you do to my laptop?" The boy gritted. His unusual green eyes observing his handful of a sister.

Sophia's eyes landed on the object resting on his study desk. It's screen was blanched even with the keyboards lighted.

"What did I do?" She turns her eyes back to her brother. It was becoming really hard to keep the laughter in. Even as she watched him, her lips tilted up in a mischievous smile.

"You little...get back here so I can teach you a lesson, you sicko."

Footsteps thudded against the floor as the duo ran– one chasing the other. Getting to the living room, Sophia dashed towards the dining room, her athletic limbs carrying her. She circled the table and watched her brother try to follow her, watching her with what she'd term annoyance.

"Sophia I swear to God, If I don't smack you, My name isn't Knosis Servantes."

"You do know that smacking me could lead you to jail right? I have a restraining order."

She watched with satisfaction as her brother gawks.

"Are you kidding me right now? You ruined my laptop and you're pulling the twin card? You psycho..."

More chasing with Sophia's laugh filling the air.

"Well we're even then. Just look at my hair you dimwit."

Knosis can't help the smirk his lips offers. He'd gone through a lot of trouble getting that expired shampoo but it was all worth it when he heard her scream. Now, he realises his mistake in thinking she'd not strike back as fast as she did.

"You were the one who mixed my laundry. Now all my underwears are bright pink." He replies.

"Only because you dimmed it fit to hang my bra on our tree. Who does that? My polkadot bra nonetheless. Do you know the humiliation I felt?" She raged as her cheeks flushed crimson at the memory. Knosis laughed at the ridiculous look on her face. His sister was really easy to tease.

"Why would you go for a polka bra? Seriously have you no seductive sense?"

Sophia glared at her brother, sure that if given the chance she'd smack that mouth of his.

"My sex life is none of your damn business."

"Oh it is." He laughs harder

"What's going on here?"

The twins turn to face their father who looks bored– as always.

The man's tall figure loomed infront of the brighted windows– the light throwing a cast on his shadow. His cool brown eyes access the two brats he raised and given the current mess on Sophia's head, he was sure they've engaged in another prank war.

"I just hope my cologne didn't end up in someone's coffee?" He narrows his eyes at them.

Sophia cast her arm towards her sniggering brother, her finger pointing accusingly.

"Your son ruined my hair."

"And she broke my laptop."

The man sighed defeatedly. This is something he should be used to but for some reason, he keeps getting surprised by the shenanigans they come up with.

"We have to talk." The man says, warily observing his children. A moment of silence before,

"Not again dad. You've got to be kidding." Knosis groans outloud as he collapses on one of the chairs.

"It's out of my hands and you know it. It's the nature of my job."

"I'm getting real sick of this you know. Why do we have to move every single damn time? Does this mean we're switching college too? You do realize how much it'll affect us right?" Knosis glares at his father.

Terry just gives an apologetic look. His eyes move from his angry son to the face of his disappointed daughter. He knew she'd be the one to hurt the most because she was beginning to settle. She was beginning to hope. It had been almost four years afterall and he had also thought this was where he'd settle. Unfortunately, he was wrong.

"Sophia..." He calls but she breezes past the two men straight to her bedroom.

Sophia felt like she'd been betrayed. Her chest tightened with an emotion she couldn't describe but it was suffocating. With her face buried in her pillow, she held back from screaming but couldn't stop the anger that coursed through her veins.

A tentative knock on her door had her burying her face futher into her pillow.

"Soph, hey,"

"Go away." Came her muffled voice. She should have locked the door. Her brother can be an insistent pain in the butt. The soft click of the door and footsteps told her he hadn't listened.

She rose to glare at him, "What part of go away is so hard to comprehend?"

Knosis stood with his arms curled in front of this chest. He could see her red rimmed eyes but most of all, he felt her anger. He was angry too but between he and Sophia, one had to be reasonable. That person would never be Sophia. As much as he loved her, she could be impulsive and straight up asinine if pushed too far.

"I don't like seeing you like this." He stated

"What do you care? Get out!" She grumbled before giving her back once again.

Knosis sighed. At this point, she was hurting. He had watched her struggle to fit in here. They both started Highschool at Bratford but she had it worse. Sophia was very eccentric thus making her stick out and just when she was starting to find her place, it was ripped away. Again!

"Sophia, get up. Let's go get some ice cream."

"Ice cream sucks."

That evoked the raise of his brows.

"Corn dogs?" He tried again

"They taste like shit."

"Okay. What do you want then?"

Knosis couldn't help it when he spoiled his sister rotten sometimes. Yes. She was three minutes older but he felt the reverse. Their mother had passed at childbirth leaving their dad with responsibility that took the most out of him. Still, he couldn't fault the man. It was his hardwork and sacrifice that has provided more than enough for their family. They lacked nothing and even with a demanding job, he tried his possible best to be there for them. Never missing any important event in their lives.

A sniff and shuffle pulls him out of his thoughts. He watches his sister sit with her legs crossed, her hair looking worse at this moment. It took all his muscles not to laugh.

"Your black hoodie– the one Alan Walker signed and your extra ticket to the next Matrix concert."

"You can't be serious." Knosis gaped wide eyed, his arms loosening to come at his sides.

"I am brother." She grinned widely at him.

"I should have known. You opportunist..."

Her laugh fills the room and at that moment, it's almost perfect. Of course, he'd do anything to keep her like this, see her like this.

"I learn from the best." She shrugs.

"Whatever. Now I have to cancel with Amy."

Sophia's nose scrunches up in distaste.

"I never liked Amy. She such a–"

"Yeah yeah, I know." He says and joins her, stretching on the mattress– his arms behind his head.

"Then why indulge her?" Sophia gives her brother a puzzled look.

"Because she's hot. And she knows her limits."

"Pff. Boys..." She shakes her head. Silence befalls them a while.

"You good?" Knosis calls out.

Sophia turns to access him with brown eyes.

"I love you ya know right?" She smiles softly at him. She wasn't oblivious to all her brother does.

He turns his eyes back to the ceiling, suddenly shy.

"Yeah I know. Come on..." He gets up with a soft grunt, "... let's go prank sweet daddy." He offers a hand.

Sophia's eyes alight with fire.

"It's the least he deserves." She takes his hand, giggling.
