Theresa's Pet (Ren)

Theresa was a beautiful girl whom everyone adored so much. She has been the epitome of beauty in the community, and every man has been dying to have her as a wife. She has been rejecting any suitors that come her way. Furthermore, she was only hoping to see her dream man at the appointed time—a man who would accept her and her pet, but not a man who would fall just because of her beauty.

Theresa only has one problem, which is ruining the day of anyone who she calls her friend. She does this through the pets she keeps. She is the type who loves keeping pets. Likewise, she could not do without birds. Not only that, but she has a bird named Ren. Ren is a beautiful Budgerigar that Theresa has trained to her tastes. She can send Ren any form of message, and she will deliver it to the appropriate quarters. Ren is fond of ruining visitors' days whenever they come to visit. This is why Theresa refused to have friends.

The last friend she had, Monica, was sent off by Ren as Ren released an excreta on her beautiful white attire. Monica was beautifully dressed, ready to go to a party, as these were the unique clothes everyone would be wearing. Monica was so angry, but then she could not do anything to Ren because Ren was a pet.

To teach Ren how to behave so well, Theresa told Ren to always wave her hands whenever she has done something of this nature. She told Ren how to go about it: “Ren, you need to learn how to say sorry, and if you want to do that, you need to wave your right hand just to say sorry. Do you hear me?” Theresa said to Ren: Ren waved her hands in return, showing a sign of understanding.

Theresa's beauty was glowing extremely, and men had been coming, but she just refused to mingle with them. One day, Theresa managed to give one man, Fred, a listening ear. She never told him how Ren always ruins visitors' days whenever they come to visit. Fred sat happily as if Theresa was already his girlfriend. Ren observes the way Fred looks at Theresa and flies in his direction.

“Wow, you have a beautiful pet. What is her name?” Fred asked.

“She called Ren”, Theresa replied shabbily.

“I'm not a fan of pets, but this one captivated me,” Fred added as he smiled at Theresa. “What is special about this, Ren?” He added.

“Ren can apologize anytime she offended someone or did something wrong. I have taught her to that extent”, Theresa said as she smiled, gazing at Ren.

Fred looked at Theresa at an angle of 360° while she walked towards the kitchen, although her parents were at home. They were only happy that Theresa had accepted at least a man into her life. When Fred tried to turn his face upward to look at Ren, the next thing he saw was a lump of excreta on his face, very close to his mouth.

"What is this? What the hell? This is what I hate most in my life”, Fred said in anger.

"What's the problem with you?” Theresa asked.

Fred hissed and wanted to leave in anger. At the doorpost, he saw Ren raising her hands, signifying “I'm sorry”.

“Ren is saying “sorry” for what she has done; this is what I have taught her”, Theresa was so sorry to see those lumps of excreta lying on Fred's face. She brought out a handkerchief just to wipe it out, but Fred flung her hands off his face and left, finally, angrily. He never returned to Theresa.

“I knew Fred would not accept me with my Ren”, Theresa told her parents.

“I cannot do without having Ren around me, as she has been my companion”, Theresa said while holding Ren in her arm.

“I know how Ren is to you, but I think it's time she learned how to respect visitors instead of ruining their moment”, Theresa's mom uttered while taking a profound look at her daughter, Theresa.

“But I don't think Ren does that on purpose. It must be something she had observed in Fred. I remembered talking to Ren some days ago, and she nodded, revealing a sign of agreement”, Theresa added.

As she said those words, Ren made a sigh, signifying that Theresa understood why she did that. “Mum! I said it, and Ren answered me. This means Fred was not a good man or was doing something not worth it”.

Days later, Theresa went out with Ren to the market to get some items when she bumped into Karen. The gaze Karen gave to Theresa was extraordinary. Immediately, he said to Theresa, “Hello, pretty! Can I hold your pet?” Before saying a word, Ren flew to Karen, and they were playing together. The way Karen was behaving with Ren sent an in-depth message of love to Theresa's brain. For the first time, she felt the love that she had never felt in her life. Ren, on the other hand, flew higher, and suddenly Karen saw an excreta on his face. Despite that, he was still smiling at Ren, and he took his face towel and wiped his face. Theresa was observing what was happening.

Ren flew down and was waving her hand.

“She is saying sorry for what she has done”, Theresa said, while also apologizing to Karen.

“No, you don't need to apologize; at least you have trained her well. She had apologized to me”, Karen replied with a smile on his face. “What's her name?” Karen asked, smiling at Theresa with a deep breath of love.

“Oh, she is Ren, my lovely pet.”

“Wow, she has a good name”, Karen said.

Karen sat with Theresa under the lonely market tree, which was situated beside the riverside. A lovely conversation, and they chatted so deeply that Theresa was just smiling for the first time at a man. It was just unlike Theresa.

After two days, Karen visited Theresa, and her mom was so happy, but she warned Ren not to ruin Karen's stay with Theresa. Ren nodded, showing a sign of relief and agreement.

After some days, Karen proposed to Theresa, and it was, wow, the best of the best match.
