Sara and José, a young newly married couple, had moved to the outskirts of town to take care of a farm that had been given to them for safekeeping, with the condition that they would live in a small house inside the farm. The house was surrounded by pure nature, lots of trees and a beautiful river, which seemed idyllic to them despite the loneliness of the place and the fact that in order to see other people they had to go practically to the village.

In the beginning, everything was going wonderfully, José was busy supervising all the things that concern the maintenance of a farm and Sara at home, working from home, since she was a very good craftswoman and knitted all kinds of things with her hands and others with her long knitting needles for that time of iron; works that every time they went down to the village she put on sale and thus entertained herself in those long hours of solitude, in which it was her turn to be.

But, there is always a, but..., she began to notice that some things got lost or changed places, at first she thought if it was José or maybe she herself in some carelessness, but then more things began to get lost, José's country hats, some pads where he placed his sewing needles, little things like that. She tried not to pay attention to it. One day the news came that she was pregnant.

The moment of birth came soon, and a beautiful baby was born, strong and big, a big eater, Sara was in love with her baby and José was overjoyed. One day they took the baby to the village and a kind old woman, who was Sara's friend, warned her that she had to be careful with her beautiful son, because in the place where they lived, there were also many goblins and fairies....

Sara heard the warnings and imagined that if fairies existed they would be like the ones she had seen in fairy tales, beautiful, kind, nice, but this old woman warned her that this was not so in that place and that they were just the opposite, that they tended to fall in love with babies and even more so if they were as cute as hers and could play tricks on her and even take her baby away, Sara was frightened, but decided not to give importance to that gossip, besides José did not like that she was paying attention to that gossip.

Life went on, but almost immediately Sara began to notice how the baby was smiling as if they were making faces or even tickling him, the cat of the house, stayed close to him watching on guard towards a specific point, totally in attack position. This seemed very strange to Sara. One afternoon the baby was sleeping in his crib while she was knitting with her needles when she heard the baby waking up, but crying loudly, as if he had been pinched or frightened and when she went to see him she found him without his clothes or blankets totally naked. This made her alert, she told José, but he wearily told her that it was just her imagination.

But Sara knew it was not. The next day she went to the village and looked for her old friend and told her her experience, she told her to dress the creature with everything upside down and that if she could put metal buttons on her shirts better, to place near him, all the small iron things she had, that the noise would warn him of the visit of this fairy, because it was surely one of them because she did not take anything of metal. That is what Sara did when she arrived, José only scolded her, thinking that this was pure superstition, but a mother's sixth sense cannot be silenced.

That night, Sara arranged everything just as she dressed her baby with everything upside down, she put some metal buttons on her clothes and surrounded the whole place where she slept, with her needles, thimbles, metal keys, and they lay down to sleep, when she was already falling into a deep sleep, suddenly she began to hear how the metal things moved, they could hear clearly how they were hitting and rolling, the ones that could roll and the baby began to cry very anguished, Sara woke up José to light the kerosene lamp they had to see what was happening, because they didn't have electricity.

When the light was on, they saw how the baby was no longer in his crib and that something was dragging him on the floor and they were almost at the entrance door, they could not see what was taking their baby; Sara the first thing she did was to take her big iron knitting needles and ran to the door and with these she began to throw them in the air near her baby, when she heard someone shout Ayyy! and the baby stopped moving, then Sara took her baby totally terrified, checked him and they could see that the child was scratched, as if with small bites.

Sara did not tolerate this and grabbed what she could, took her baby and went to her friend's house, she told José that she would wait for him there, but that she would not stay in that place one more day... José, defeated by what he had experienced, gave up those lands and left the place with his family... when he was leaving in the distance, he could hear some creepy laughter of some women that made his skin crawl, he hurried the step without looking back and understood that the forces, energies, dark beings exist, of that he had no doubts...
