The Whisper: Rave The World.

Sadness overwhelmed her as she stood still listening to the soothing waves of the sea as she bathed in the moonlight of what had stuck her.

Tons of tears filled her face as she cried painfully inside, unable to let it out. She held onto her chest as a series of emotions took hold of her, almost blinding her.

"Let it go". A voice whispered close to her ears, and she could not help the scream that left her lips.

Raven cried out like never before until her body hit the sand filled ground in plain misery.

Why me? She wondered painfully, wishing she was dreaming.

Why! She screamed out loud, holding on the beach sand like it was her dear life.

"Why did it have to be today of all days?" She asked the moon in a sad tone. It shouldn't have been today she spoke again, hitting her chest forcefully until she had no strength to move anymore.

With her face towards the sky, her mind went back to what had happened earlier like in a movie and she was too numb to stop her mind from wandering back to the last 18 hours of her day.

18 hours earlier.

The rise of the morning sun took hold of Raven's face as she stretched her body with a smile filled face before standing from her bed to the kitchen.

The smell of coffee enveloped her as she screamed internally.

"Finally, the Disney Princess is awake". Her best friend Cynthia said with a smile before handling Raven her cup of coffee.

Raven had the first two cups of coffee as usual before she answered her friend.

"I know you can't do without me." She replied with a giggle bringing out her tongue.

"Ewww, put that tongue back and start acting like a grown-up woman". Cynthia replied with a big smile as Raven chased her around the kitchen with her tongue out.

Giggles filled the air as Raven smiled beautifully at her best friend. Her mind took a jump as she remembered how she had met Cynthia.

She remembered how the day that was supposed to be the saddest part of her day came with a brightness at the end when she met Cynthia.

Her parents had died in a tragic accident on their way out on their anniversary. She remembered how beautifully they had both looked before they left her 10 years ago.

The day that was meant to be her happy day with her parents turned sad when they were both rushed to the hospital. Raven was 14 years old, then when her phone rang and she was told of her misfortune.

She remembered how she left home to get a taxi, which took her to the hospital and the painful beating of her heart when she got to the hospital.

Painful hours passed as the doctors tried to save any of them, but she was hit with the news that none of them survived. She had held her chest tightly and fell on the cold floor with tons of hands holding her.

And, right then, her eyes had found Cynthia, whose eyes were filled with tears also. After she calmed down, Cynthia came close to her to comfort her and she had accepted a stranger's comfort unknowingly to her that Cynthia was called to the hospital also that her grandmother who was the only family she had had died too after years of battling with cancer.

It was right then that she and Cynthia became friends, and they have never left each other until now...

Cynthia was a Baker while she, a fashion designer and they both owned their company.

After their usual coffee banter, they both left for work, which wasn't too far from themselves. Raven, though, remembered what today was, and she knew Cynthia did too. It is the day they both lost the people closest to them.

And, they had promised to meet at their usual death and friendship anniversary Chinese restaurant where they have always been too to celebrate their loss and gain in life.

But... things didn't work out this time around when her phone rang and the voice she heard wasn't her friend's voice even when she knew it was her number, but it was the voice of a man. The voice she heard, shattered her from inside when she was told that her friend had an accident and was in a hospital battling for her life.

Shock. That was the first thing that took hold of Raven until the sound of her phone hitting the floor brought her back to life.

She hurriedly took her purse and got into her car as she drove crazily to the hospital and... it was there that it was announced to her that her friend was dead and that it wasn't a dream no matter how she pinched herself. It was her reality. At 14, she had lost her parents, and 10 years later, she had lost her best friend.

Chuckling deeply, she had left the hospital after all the necessary documentation and drove her car to the beach with Cynthia's phone in her hand.

Present Time

Tons of emotions filled her as she looked at the sky in wonder.

"Where was Cynthia going?" She asked no one in particular.

She was sure they planned on meeting at the Chinese restaurant, which wasn't far from their companies. Then, why?

Bringing out Cynthia's phone from her purse, she checked her call log to see that a number had called her. Calling the number, the receiver picked with a groggily voice.

"Hello, ma'am, I am sorry but we are already closed. I had called tons of time to let you know I was waiting since you promised to pick the car up today." The man said.

And then, it hit her as the phone fell from her hand buried in the sand.

She had wanted the new sports car and she had told Cynthia about it.

More tears poured out of her eyes as she realized that her friend had died because of her. And she wished to be dead too, but the whisper in ear made her still.

"Live for us, Raven. Rave the world with your smile and don't forget I am always here for you". The voice spoke, and Raven couldn't stop crying as she realized who owned the voice.
