Denzel walked down the stairs from the building he'd called his office just this morning. Sadly, it no longer was. As he stepped out of the building he looked at the sky in disbelief. He knew his boss was very harsh but he never expected he'd lose his job over something as little as coming late to a meeting. He'd come late a few times in the last week, but that was only because he was going through a lot in his personal life.

Three months ago if you'd told Denzel he'd be in this situation he'd laugh his heart out. Back then he was living the life of a baller. He had just learnt about crypto currency from a friend and he invested heavily into a coin that was being promoted on social media by Nole, a very famous and rich ceo. His investment paid off and he received a whooping 10x of his investment. He began to live like a king, he moved into a new house, bought a car, and even started seeing someone. He was already contemplating quitting his job, but decided to hold on a bit longer.

He put some of the money into dodgy investments and lost a huge chunk of it. Out of frustration he decided he'd put it back into crypto. In Ignorance he put his money into a bunch of shitcoins.

"Since their value is low, when they rise I'd easily double or triple my investments" he thought.

One fateful day, he noticed one of his coins had pumped by a thousand percent meaning he'd done another ten times. His joy knew no bounds, until he tried to withdraw it and it didn't work.

"Not enough liquidity" were the words written boldly on the screen of his laptop.

His heart began to beat fast, he tried again and again for smaller amounts, but it kept saying the same thing

"Not enough liquidity"

Even for a withdrawal as low as a dollar.

"Could this be a rug-pull?" he thought.

"No it can't be, it's probably a service issue."

He knew it probably wasn't, but he just refused to believe all that money was gone. He tried withdrawing his other investments and they were all the same.

"What are the odds? huh"

"What are the odds?" he yelled this time.

"Everything I have, poof. In the blink of an eye, I have nothing."

He sat down in his chair and stared at the ceiling

"Destroyed by the temptation of lower price, higher rewards. Without even taking the risks into consideration."

He didn't even know how to feel. He just sat there while various thoughts filled his mind.

From there it was a downward spiral. He was bankrupt, he left a lot of his dues unpaid and began to owe, sold his car, mortgaged his house, his girlfriend left him because she felt he wasn't serious with life, and now, he'd just been dismissed from his work place which was all he had left.

"I let my greed get the better of me." he thought

As he walked up to the bus stop it dawned on him that he truly had nothing anymore. Tears rolled down his face.

"I'm not going to do this, I'm not feel sorry for myself anymore. It's my fault I'm in this mess, and moping about it won't do me any good." he thought

He turned around and headed back to his office. Determined he wasn't going to lose his job, even if it meant taking a pay cut.
