Sunday Farmer's Market

Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining but you could feel the fresh air of the fall coming. I decided to take the folding bike and cycle to the Sunday market and see the fresh produce variety and figure out if I could find the end-of-the-summer products.

The place was pretty crowded and as soon as I arrived, I could see some of the fruit stands which already offered clementines. As it is early season, they let you try them to check if they are still too acid and that's what I did to decide I will still wait a couple of weeks to get some.

One of the cool things about this Sunday market is you can find not only fresh produce, but also cheese, oil, artisan bread, and even some wine.

I loved to see the mushroom stands. I am sure they are not local as we have had a very dry summer and no big rain since the spring, but wherever they came from, they looked amazing.

The smell of this place with all the different bread varieties was incredible. They bring their own wood oven and cook the bread right there.

On top of getting some veggies, I decided to try this Olive oil and got a 2L extra virgin bottle

Had not seen these tomatoes for a while, they are grown in an area of northern Spain and the variety is called "ugly" but honestly, they looked great!

I could also see a couple of places with flowers which looked very nice with all Marygold flowers mixed with others ones with different colors.

Just when I was about to leave, I found this "churros" stand, where you can purchase the traditional fried pastry you usually eat dipped into hot chocolate. Unfortunately, there was no chocolate on sale but If they keep coming to the market I am sure I will get some when the weather starts getting cooler as I love having them in the cold winter weekends.

It is a pleasure to have this market in town every Sunday, even if you do not purchase anything (which is hard not to do) and walk by to see all the products.
