WHAT AN ENCHANTED PLACE TO RELAX: HERE WE GO TO BANYAN COLD SPRING IN TABOGON!

THIS IS THE TIME TO VISIT AGAIN THE NEW GUIWANON WHICH IS NOW A BANYAN COLD SPRING RESORT!!

If I am not mistaken, trying to recall when I was a kid, this cold spring was free and open to all people. I could still remember who was with me at that time (family and friends) and the car that we were using. I still vividly recall the one creature that I didn’t want to step under the water, which was the sea urchin or “tuyum”, in Visayan words. It had a lot of sea urchins before and the front side near the pool was the image of the Virgin Mary facing the people swimming. It was known its name as GUIWANON COLD SPRING. Time passed by, and Guiwanon already collected an entrance fee of 50.00 if I am not mistaken, until such time, someone or another person owned the place and made it a new face.

The Gateway

I heard a lot of hearsays that Guiwanon was bought by an affluent buyer and must change or re–model the resort and everything. Also, I heard that there will be a possibility of an increase in the entrance fee. So, here’s the wonderful gate for the grand entrance of guests like us.

Parking Lot

It has an extensive space, and you can see a lot of cars parked in this area resulting in us not having space for our service, so the guard decided to occupy the space outside. Amazing, in this area before, the land was not even, with no gate and no guard either. We need only step the very slope part of it and the normal form of soil created by years on our way to the pool and no solid stairs at all.

Flowering plants

It welcomes you while walking your way to the pool. It adds excitement and makes it look like paradise. The plants around make the resort terrific and tranquil.

THE LONG AND NARROW STAIRS

Upon hearing the news about Guiwanon, from changing its used to be real name, to the changes in entrance fee, to the arrangement of tables, and to the new comfort room, and grilled area for the food, it made me realize that the entrance fee deserves how much it is because the place really a perfect place for relaxation. The other place in Banyan that makes me surprised was the very narrow stairs, I didn’t see anymore the old lane which people used to walk along the pool. Wait there are more, many changes that I observed when we went down the stairs.

What a festive!!

What a jaw–dropping place it is!!! Since it was the weekend and summer season here in the Philippines a lot of people spent their time here in the water. Other visitors were singing and dancing. The others were swimming with their nice trunks for the boys and two–piece for the girls. I quickly imagined, how much is the total money they earn if this kind of person goes to visit the place every day, just puzzled, though, lol.

While walking, here was the place that I noticed;

The Image of the Virgin Mary

As mentioned above, before, the Mother Virgin Mary was placed on the other side of the pool the big pool and it was facing the people swimming, but now they transferred it here with Manaw plant that made her fascinating and homey.

The Big comfort room

I didn’t see this one before, when we need to change clothes after swimming, we just hide in the back of the tree or wear our towel to cover us while changing our clothes or going home wet.

The Old Tree

This is the tree considered as unreplaceable and considered as old one, this tree existed when I was young. It grows bigger and stronger. According to myth, it has a spirit living there or people that we cannot see with our naked eye, they just guarding and taking care of the place.

Life Preserver

So I am done making a stroll around the area, and now my sister-in-law decided to buy a life preserver for kids. She bought two to make the kids enjoy the rest of the day.

Pizza for the hungry Tummy

We have only chicken for lunch and this was our snack. The kids really enjoyed eating the pizza.

Swimming time

Me, making a deep connection with the nature.

This sensational place makes me free from stress. Kids and adults love swimming and seems like they enjoyed the whole day round. Also, they have these natural mini-waterfalls, and we enjoyed these magical waterfalls. It massages our back and it so much enjoying.

Note:

In going here to Banyan Cold Spring Resort, you only have a 20- 25-minute ride from the highway of Ilihan, Tabogon. This cold spring is located in Barangay Maslog, Tabogon, Cebu.

It’s a beautiful thing, diving into the cool crisp water and then just sort of being able to pull your body through the water and the water opening up for you.
