Bogo, City Cebu is usually traveled by people from Northern Cebu as it offers different fascinating and incredible destinations full of adventure. We visited one of their famous spots which is perfect for outings as it is situated on higher lands.
My nephew and my niece were having their School Encampment 2023 with the theme: Guardians of Green: Fostering Environmental Stewardship at C88 Nature Leisure and Nature Park. This is a program implemented by their city so the scouts can experience a fulfilling activity that will sharpen their skills, widen their knowledge when the survival of the fittest happens, and be stewards of nature.
Last weekend, after we celebrated my 1st Hivesary, we agreed to visit them at their venue, the peak of the mountain where they were situated. It is said to be one of the hidden gems in the north. A wonderful place where you can experience a thrilling adventure and where nature's wonder can be felt within.
Elevate Your Spirit at the Peak
We took a 17-minute drive from the highway to go to our itinerary. The natural lush green surrounds the place. It has a vast field that I never expected to see. It is used as an agricultural farm owned by the affluent people of Bogo.
I admired traveling at Tabayjo. I found it alluring as it is not crowded, and the atmosphere is cool and serene. It is far from pollution and an eco-friendly place.
Upon arrival, the jaw-dropping view enticed us all. I was amazed at how beautiful the peak was. We were welcomed by the green scene and the cool breeze from the mountain gently touched our skin. The aromatic smell of the ground was so refreshing to my senses. I felt relaxed all of a sudden.
Their encampment was held here due to the wide area of the quadrangle at the top. It has been developed well enough to cater to a huge number of outing lovers. The campers' setup was arranged well so the center could be utilized for their activities.
It has a stage built at the corner which is beneficial for the engagement. The campers will be gathered easily if there are certain things to be instructed or to be done.
It has a Ground 8 Coffee store for coffee lovers. If you are planning to visit here, we will not be hungry at the peak as they offer delicious food and drinks.
Climbing here at the peak can be exhausting however upon reaching the top reconnecting with nature, elevated our inner senses. The encampment venue which is at the peak, can be the best avenue for 21st-century learners to feel the importance of nature. In this program, they were taught how to become good nature stewards which is essential for sustainability.
I spotted this 2-story bamboo-made hut in the middle of the trees. It has an overlooking view, suitable for meditation. The Scouters were seen doing their activities regarding the best practices they can do for our environment.
On the other side of the peak
On the opposite side of this nature park, my nephew was there. We went to check how was he. We climb up to reach their venue. The place is perfect for outings too. It is situated at the top of the mountain and surrounded by trees.
Their backyard encampment taught them to be fierce and determined in life. Their strength and endurance were measured, and they learned how to maneuver up and overcome the tough situation.
We caught up with them doing the obstacle course. They were blindfolded while they went down the mountain. When they reached the area, the Scouters needed to surpass this obstacle by crawling through the wet mud and making sure to reach the other side without touching their bodies to rope-tied lowered to the ground.
The evening view
I love strolling at night time here. The more it became incredible and relaxing. The more it becomes peaceful that we can forget momentarily all the hustles and bustles in life. At this moment, the scouters were far from their families and they were trained to be independent so that in the future they could stand alone.
The adventures experienced here at the top are truly remarkable to the children's lives. They were taught to come out of their comfort zone, explore the horizon, and see what they could do for this world that becomes more chaotic. In the future, this training that they got will surely help for the betterment of their lives and our environment as well.
This was our amazing weekend experience together with my loved ones.
