Waiting for this day has been like waiting for eternity,
As she prepares to live the day she has dreamed of the most,
the day she has planned the most.
The most desired day.

She prepares to live the most longed-for day of her whole life.
For years she has dreamed of that wonderful moment
when she will finally be able to embrace the being
who has lived in her heart for so long.

Nervous, trembling, and excited
she chooses the outfit she will wear to the meeting,
she hesitates between a white dress or a red one that will contrast
that combines with her bristling skin and flushed cheeks.

There is no makeup to match the sparkle in her eyes,
there is nothing that makes her look better
than that smile on her face
every time she imagines hugging him.

At the train station,
he waits for her with sweaty hands,
he avoids biting his nails and wipes away a tear
that without permission escapes to see what's going on.

His restless heart pauses
so as not to burst out of his chest,
And in her head there are images
of embracing silhouettes.

She gets off the train as calmly as she can,
but he runs into her arms and sanity surrenders.
An embrace was never so eternal and so ephemeral at the same time,

The kiss came later;
shy and serene it crept in between them
until it dominated the scene
and desire arose.

He took her by the hand
and took her for a walk
to that ancient castle
where they once met.

Between very old walls
and corridors of mysteries,
he confesses to being lost,
refuses to live the wait again,
so with his knees on that stone floor,
he asks her to accept to be for him
his tower and his fortress.

She tenderly touched,
can only accept to live
to live life by his side
and allow herself to enjoy the long awaited moment
in which she gives her life
to the gentleman who for so many nights
has wandered through her dreams.

These improvised lines have been written to participate in this week's Contest of The Weekend community. The original text has been written in Spanish and was translated into English using the free version of Deepl translator.

As the creator of the contest invites us to be creative, I came up with the idea of writing a fantasy and very romantic text that tells the story of two lovers who meet again after a long wait.

I am a firm believer in true love and therefore believe that the perfect date is one where there is a meeting of souls, rather than skin.
However, for this encounter to happen we may have to go through several failed dates, several wrong people, several disappointments or even several lifetimes.

It was a pleasure for me to participate again in this contest. Thank you for reading my participation, greetings and blessings.
