Slow down, would ya? | [WE101]

Ever wondered why the good guys walking away from explosion scenes in slow mo became an action movie clichè? We've all seen those uncountable times but they never get old.

Or when you are watching a sport and they show the highlights in slow motion, like when the dude scores a goal and the crowd is going crazy and he's sliding across the grass on his knees?

Those are the moments we look forward to, the moments that make watching these shows totally worth it.

Picture this; every great moment you experience in life happens in slow motion, gives you enough time to experience it to the fullest, makes you notice every minute detail you normally wouldn't have noticed if it was going by too fast. Doesn't the mere thought if this make you happy?

🕢 Slow or fast

Have you ever wished time would move more slowly, or quickly? When and why?

To answer this, I'd rather time went by a little slower than normal.

I know life isn't always happy and we'd rather not have experienced somethings we have. This is the one thing I know will make most people disagree with my preference. It's the one downside here, at least it's the only one I can think of.

I'm almost totally sure that we all have moments in our lives that we'd love to go back to. This is mostly because they went by too fast, and lots of other things happened after them but we still remember from time to time.

If we had felt and had been aware of every emotion and action, we'd know that we experienced that moment in the best way possible and I don't think we'd linger on those so much rather we would impatiently anticipate experiencing something like that again.

I know this sounds overly optimistic but life isn't always great so a little optimism every now and then doesn't hurt.

The way I'd like this to work if it weren't a hypothetical situation is that the slow mo thing only happens in great moments and the not so great moments go by normally.

Despite the fact that I'm talking mostly about happy moments, I also believe that bad times add to our quality of life and that way we can fully appreciate the good times when they happen.

The answer to the questions in the intro is simply because, "Everything is better in slow motion".

I think we all should look at these beautiful moments like candles that eventually burn out. We should try our best to savour those moments, bask in the light and warmth of the happiness you feel at that time so that when it eventually burns out you'll have some warmth left that'll be able to sustain you untill you get to light another one.
