Hi everyone on HIVE and especially the Weekend Experiences Community. I am writing to you from Cape Town, South Africa. So, what did I get up to this weekend?
Well, I'm a 37 year old who has just became a father. That is the kind of thing that really makes it clear that I am now an adult with responsibilities and people to love, protect and provide for...
Still, sometimes it is nice to have fun and be young again! This weekend, one of our friends turned 42 years old. However, she decided that you're never too old to have fun and that she would like to have a dress up party with a SUPERHERO theme. It was really nice to see that most of the guests went to an effort to try and make the party a success!
I'm Spiderman feeling buff with my extra padded muscles on my arms, shoulders and chest! My wife and her sister are Mario and Luigi (from Super Mario Bro's) respectively. They soon got very irritated with their mustaches! Hahaha! The birthday girl herself dressed up as Wonder-Woman!
The cousin of the birthday girl came as Poison Ivy from the Batman comics - doesn't that make her more of a Super-VILLAIN than a Super-HERO?
The brother of the birthday girl is a minion from "Despicable Me"!
Trying to really get into my character of being Spiderman...
Hanging upside-down, waiting for my kiss from Mary-Jane!
Well we had lots of fun! One of the friends (a Super-girl) made a fabulous cake, and we danced until about 11pm until we had to remember that we were actually parents, and therefore we had to go and collect our 14-month daughter from her grandparents who had been looking after her!
Still, it was fun to be kids again ourselves for a few hours!
THE END
