Cuban Art Museum / Week 214

One of the most important cultural institutions in my city is the Museum of Cuban Art, which treasures in its halls the second most important collection of paintings and works of art in the country. But, its greatness exceeds the artistic because its geographical location places it in a mountainous area and the museum is in complete harmony with nature.

This museum is located in a large house that was built in the 40s of the last century and was restored to give way to a museum that is the cultural jewel of the place.

Located in Topes de Collantes, it has in its exterior 4 statues made with marble from the Italian city of Carrara that symbolize the different seasons of the year.

Inside everything is very nice, combined and very well cared for.
But, what enhances the institution is the great amount of works of art that it treasures. Inside there are paintings, pictures and works of art of the greatest artists of the Cuban plastic arts of the 80s of the last century, although the management of the institution has been responsible for continuing to renew the art gallery of the museum.

That is why here you will see works by Flora Fong, Zaida del Río, Manuel Mendive, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Ernesto García, Pedro Pablo Oliva and many others.
You will be able to contemplate in the museum paintings with diverse themes ranging from nature, women, the country, to others such as iconic characters of Cuban television.

If you come to Cuba and you have the possibility to go to the tourist complex of Topes de Collantes in the center south of Cuba I recommend you to visit the Museum of Cuban Art.
