Diverso, polémico, necesario, así puede entenderse, Juntos por la vida, el espectáculo cultural, no sólo artístico, que cada viernes a la diez de la noche tiene lugar en su habitual sede, el reconocidísimo, Faraón pinareño.
Juntos por la vida, que ya tiene más de cinco años de existencia, es un proyecto cultural, con una base social y artística meritoria. Surge este espacio como defensa a la diversidad sexual, como un paso a la legitimación en Cuba, de los derechos de hombre y mujeres que escogen su camino, su forma de proyectar la sexualidad, sus preferencias.
Las diversas acciones que se llevan a cabo, antes y durante el espectáculo, sobre todo en primera instancia, tales como repartir plegables con orientación social y sexual; las pruebas de seropositividad que se realizan, los intercambio con activistas van generando, sembrando una suerte de conciencia positiva en el público que acude los viernes a Juntos por la vida.
Lo que tiene un gran valor social, puesto que estas acciones, de marcado carácter didáctico, van ganando terreno en la prevención de enfermedades de transmisión sexual y el cuidado de estas. Algo que de por sí ya tiene un gran impacto social.
Diverse, polemic, necessary, this is how Juntos por la vida can be understood, the cultural show, not only artistic, that takes place every Friday at ten o'clock at night in its usual venue, the renowned Faraón in Pinar del Río.
Juntos por la vida, which has been in existence for more than five years, is a cultural project with a meritorious social and artistic base. This space arises as a defense of sexual diversity, as a step towards the legitimization in Cuba of the rights of men and women who choose their path, their way of projecting their sexuality, their preferences.
The various actions that are carried out before and during the show, especially in the first instance, such as handing out leaflets with social and sexual orientation; the seropositivity tests that are performed, the exchange with activists are generating, sowing a kind of positive awareness in the public that comes to Juntos por la vida on Fridays.
This has a great social value, since these actions, of a markedly didactic nature, are gaining ground in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and their care. This in itself has a great social impact.
Pero no menos lo tuvo y lo tiene la propia existencia del espacio en la provincia, puesto que representa la resistencia y la conquista de terreno del imaginario popular, de la defensa de la otredad, de los derechos humanos más básicos.
En tiempo en que todavía no se había aprobado el Código de Familia cubano, ya este territorio, Juntos por la vida, aportaba resguardo moral, espiritual, grupal e individual, familiar a los que se le acercaban. Ello fue sembrando la semilla, desmitificando estereotipos, brindado como ya hemos mencionado, amparo y a la vez conciencia en el contexto local pinareño.
De igual forma, la existencia de un espectáculo artístico, ha permitido que diversos auto reconocidos artistas del transformismo, hayan debutado en la mayor parte de los casos con un éxito laudable. Lo cual se debe a la transmisión de saberes sobre las convenciones, el comportamiento escénico, las formas de interpretación aprendidas o desarrolladas por las generaciones de estos artistas, los cuales han sido referentes o han instruido a los novicios o interesados en esta forma de crear.
En un tono menor, pero también con destacable valía, las intervenciones danzarias, el cuerpo de baile y los intérpretes musicales que se presentan mientras transcurre Juntos por la vida, aportan matices a este espectáculo. Sobre todo los intérpretes musicales regalan momentos de muy buen gusto.

At a time when the Cuban Family Code had not yet been approved, this territory, Together for Life, was already providing moral, spiritual, group, individual and family protection to those who approached it. This was sowing the seed, demystifying stereotypes, providing, as we have already mentioned, protection and at the same time awareness in the local context of Pinar del Río.
In the same way, the existence of an artistic spectacle, has allowed that diverse self-recognized artists of the transformism, have debuted in most of the cases with a praiseworthy success. This is due to the transmission of knowledge about the conventions, the scenic behavior, the forms of interpretation learned or developed by the generations of these artists, which have been referents or have instructed the novices or those interested in this form of creation.
In a lesser tone, but also with remarkable value, the dance interventions, the corps de ballet and the musical performers that are presented during the course of Juntos por la vida, contribute nuances to this show. Above all, the musical performers give moments of very good taste.
Igualmente se disfruta los momentos en el espectáculo que en que el espectador pasa a ser protagonista del espacio. Nos referimos a los agasajos a los que cumplen años, aniversarios o cuando se invita a uno o varios atrevidos a cantar algún tema musical acompañado de una pista. Todo esto hace más cercano, más orgánico el despliegue de Juntos por la vida.
Y desde luego, una vez terminado el show, el público tiene la posibilidad de continuar su recreación al deleitarse con la música grabada de diverso tipo. El ambiente familiar, intimísimo del espacio, hace que la velada, hasta las 2:00 a.m, se vaya como un susurro.
Al asistir las noches de los viernes al “Faraón”, como popularmente se le llama, al vivir el programa de Juntos por la vida, se está siendo parte de un hecho formativo, pero también fundamentalmente social, recreativo. Esas virtudes del espacio que preludia el fin de semana hace varios años, lo hace una de las opciones más coloridas de la ciudad.
Ojalá pues, se mantenga con la vitalidad que ahora guarda para que sus diversos públicos y las generaciones de pinareños, cubanos que suceden, puedan hacer suyo este lugar de crecimiento y esparcimiento.
We also enjoy the moments in the show when the spectator becomes the protagonist of the space. We are referring to the celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries or when one or more daring people are invited to sing a song accompanied by a track. All this makes the deployment of Juntos por la vida closer, more organic.
And of course, once the show is over, the audience has the possibility to continue their recreation by enjoying recorded music of various kinds. The familiar, intimate atmosphere of the space, makes the evening, until 2:00 a.m., go by like a whisper.
By attending Friday nights at the "Pharaoh", as it is popularly called, and experiencing the Juntos por la vida program, one is being part of a formative, but also fundamentally social and recreational event. These virtues of the space that preludes the weekend for several years, makes it one of the most colorful options in the city.
Hopefully, it will be maintained with the vitality it now keeps so that its various audiences and the generations of Pinareños, Cubans who succeed, can make this place of growth and recreation theirs.
