Hello everyone, and happy weekend, it's been a while since I wrote in this community, saw the weekend prompt yesterday and when I went through the prompt, I decided that I was going to participate in it this weekend and I chose to answer the third topic of the prompt.
If you had a terminal illness how would you break the news to your family and friends? Remember to use your own photos.
If I ever realize at a point in time that I have a terminal illness that would likely take my life anytime soon, I may never break the news to my family, especially my mother and if I decide to do that, it could be to just my siblings, and they have to keep it a secret away from my mother because there is a high possibility that she could even give up the ghosts before it is my time just by knowing that I have a terminal illness and I could die anytime soon, leaving her to face the world alone.
Ever since the death of my father who happens to be her husband, I have been my mother's backbone and only shoulder she can lean on for support, so telling her about my illness is going to be difficult for me and difficult for her to take and come to terms that her only daughter and the only person who supports her is going through such illness that may take her life in short notice.
This is why I am sure that I am never going to tell anyone and if for any reason the only reason why I would decide to tell my siblings is so that any day the news of my death reaches them peradventure I die away from them, they wouldn't suspect anyone for my death but except that, I wouldn't want to burden anyone about my health issues.
I also wouldn't want anyone looking at me in a different light just because they are aware that I have a terminal illness and could die anytime. I would just want to be treated and seen by everyone the same way they have always seen me, not having a pity party because of it. So, yeah, I would choose not to break the news to anyone for their sake and my sake.
