I'd like to share my visit to the very beautiful and mysterious underground cave in Postonja city in Slovenia.
We take a bus from Ljubljana main station to Postonja main station. There are also buses to the cave but it is usually at a different timing. The journey takes around 1.5 hours. And there are frequent buses usually every 1 hour.
This is the Postonja Main bus station.
From the main station we need to walk at least 20 minutes to the location of the cave.
The pretty view as we walk makes us forget the trouble of walking.
When you see this entrance take a right and enter the road towards the Expo and cave.
The building with the blue column has the Expo where they display the history about the cave and also a very nice butterfly exhibition. The building with the white pillars is the one where you buy the tickets.
The entry to the cave costs min of 25 Euros and upto 50 Euros depending on the package
You can also visit the exhibition, there is a castle nearby and also a expo to see an endangered species of a lizard. So hence this Difference in cost.
And there is a train inside the cave and the overall distance that you need to cover in the cave is 24 kilometers.
The train helps us cover 23 kilometers of it so you just need to walk 1 kilometer inside the cave and they drop you and guide you at the core of the cave where the biggest and prettiest structures are seen.
And to not wait any longer I share here the pretty pictures from inside the cave.
Bonus tips:
There is a nice Chinese restaurant near the Potosnja Main bus station and here I also share to you the bus timings from and towards Ljubljana and Postonja.
