11 hour excursion - amazing day from Krakow to the mountains

On Tuesday night Eden blessed with a Chopin concert. How very special it was to listen to Chopin's music in Poland, the place where he was born.

Yesterday was our last day in Poland, and what a day it was - we went on an 11 hour excursion to the hot springs.

The water is extracted from a depth of nearly 3,600 meters and submerged rocks, emit beneficial micronutrients such as sulfur, calcium, magnesium and sodium.

The hot springs are situated in the village of Chocholów whch is near Zakopane. The locals still live in traditional wooden houses which are 200 years old.

We were picked up by a bus and after a short stop to use the WC we stopped at the shepherd's mountain shelter of Bacowka where we were served some traditional cheese, still produced in the area and cooked on a barbecue and served some plum and peach vodka shots. The snow had turned to ice and was very slippery. So grateful that I didn't fall.

The bus stopped at the cable car - known as the Gubałówka Hill Funicular and walking the precarious path to the bottom of the cable car we experienced the ride to the top.

With Eden - we got there just in time as a few minutes later you couldn't see the mountains because it started snowing

We had a hot chocolate to warm ourselves up but to be honest if I had only known how beautiful the little town below was, I would have wanted to spend more time in the village. It was like a fairytale town down there.
