GM Team3, how are you?

Wow, we did it, yesterday we (@vikisecrets, @tattoodjay, @stdd, @ganjafarmer, @wrestlingdesires) finally managed to exchange the keys via Discord and Hive Memos.

Then the search for the correct combination began, and @stdd found the correct key and equally distributed the prize (both HBD and HIVE). Well done 🎉

Thereby, we successfully finished the Hive Social Experiment by @geekgirl after approx. three days.

Congrats to the whole team and that everybody worked together to solve this puzzle, which was both a social and technical (but mostly social) challenge.

Lessons learned

The biggest challenge was actually communication, getting the team to work together.

Not everybody has Discord, I tried to contact all members on Hive / Bee Chat, but nobody replied.

I tried to organize our team by making a proposal post at the beginning how to solve the game.

Communicating via Hive on-chain was the least common denominator, it had the advantage that other Hiveians could follow the game almost in real-time and that nobody could cheat. At least any attempt to cheat would have become immediately obvious. Transparency is key to solving corruption.

The disadvantage of on-chain communication is that it is public.

Right at the beginning one team member immediately delegated his work to another player and basically left the team, although all players proactively joined the game.

Every member had a different time budget, level of knowledge regarding Hive memos and keys, and different working speeds, which is fine but needs to be acknowledged and accounted for.

Team members had problems decrypting and encrypting memos, which was quite frustrating.

There was also collaborations between teams. Team 2 published a tool to generate the key permutations, which was very helpful.

Team 4 solved the puzzle first. Their key finder took a small "remainder" of the prize as a reward for finding the key. Team 1 has left a portion of the prize in the account. But all teams managed to find the key, which I was not expecting. No team returned the prize. There was also a 7 day time limit.

It was fun taking part in this Hive Social Experiment by @geekgirl.

Bottom line, working with teams is quite a social challenge. Life itself is a social experiment.

Live your Secrets and Hive Prosper 🍯

xx Viki @vikisecrets
