There is a huge update on Bitcoin for Countries. 1 country and 2 regions are adopting Bitcoin as legal tender.
The two regions are the Próspera Economic Zone in Honduras and Madeira, an autonomous region in Portugal.
In Mexico, there are also efforts to recognize Bitcoin as a means of payment, but we are not there yet.
The biggest surprise, however, came out after the Bitcoin Miami conference.
The Central African Republic is adopting Bitcoin as legal tender. The first country in Africa to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment. Sick :)
And there is also good news from Panama. Bitcoin will be exempt from capital gains tax and virtually recognized as a foreign currency, but not yet directly introduced as a means of payment.
What do you guys say about this welcome development? When will Germany, Austria and Switzerland follow suit? The former two countries (German, Austria) are part of the EU. If one EU member state accepted Bitcoin as legal tender, it would be hard for the EU to ban it.
