In media updated by the China Net casting Services Association (CNSA), China has banned the sharing of videos promoting digital assets such as Bitcoin.

Report from Bitcoin.com Guidelines under The “Online Short Video Content Review Standard Rule (2021)” states that users should not share videos that promote public participation in crypto-mining, trading and speculation.

The command states “Violations of laws, regulations, social order and other customs” could be interpreted as disarming Chinese regulators for trying to censor clips posted online.

The ban applies to platforms including Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, Bytedance, Kuaishou, and WeChat.
