The reason why most people don't talk about hard fork and soft fork when it comes to the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the blockchain at large is simply because when it comes to the two words above, their meaning and their purpose in the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the blockchain at large is something that people don't enjoy or fancy at all. If you are in the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the blockchain at large for a very long period of time you will understand that when these two things happened to any cryptocurrency project it is not always for the very best but at times it needs to happen. You will ended up seeing issues and chaos in that blockchain. Just like I have hinted above, why many will love it, many will never buy that idea. This is definitely how it will always go when you are referring to cryptocurrency hard fork and soft fork when you are refering to blockchain at large.

Before I digresses further do you knows that I noticed and came across cryptocurrency hard fork back then when Steem blockchain breaks into two and the Hive blockchain which is the community with all the support was formed. We all have seen how since then there has been issues in the hive and steem blockchain with hate spreading between them, it is no longer the way that it uses to be with both blockchain but nonetheless we have to move on and from the progress from the two blockchain we all can see that it is still the hive blockchain that is doing more better. All these are what many people hates that is making them seeing negativity with the word Hard fork or even the soft fork.

As for your information, hard fork can be seen as split in a given blockchain. Assuming we have a blockchain called Blockchain A, time or later if the users in that chain started having issues and they were unable to come to a single ground, they can decide to split the blockchain into two by going through series of cryptocurrency coding. When this is done we should knows that there is every tendency that the blockchain will now be two and they won't be working together as both might have separate cryptocurrency token name. They will cease to operate as one, this is just the bad side of cryptocurrency hard fork but most times it is really needed. One thing that I love about cryptocurrency hardfork is that you will ended up getting coins in both blockchain. Take for instance if you have 10,000,000 coins in blockchain A, when blockchain B is created you will have same 10,000,000 in the other chain.

As for soft fork it does the opposite of Hardfork, you don't have to bother about splitting of the blockchain into two. A soft blockchain is simply a fork that is done to just act as upgrade to the current blockchain. As I have said and stated, there is nothing like split in the blockchain, the old blockchain still stands.
