Dune: Part Two (2024) - Where do we stand? - INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog

Personally, I am a science fiction enthusiast but I'm new to dune, its first version went out on 1984 I wasn't even born so no wonder I didn't know of its existance until 2021 and the rest is story, I was hooked and mad at the end of the first movie, felt it was too short and kept asking for more of it until then I find out there was a second part already on its way, since then I have been impatiently waiting but its almost here, have watch the 2021 version quite a few times have to say, the 2021 adaptation was direct by Denis Villeneuve and is a cinematic marvel got to say, its cast is awesome with Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and Oscar Isaac.

One thing Dune 2021 had was the music, totally on point through the entire movie, critics and fans went crazy, the movie had astonishing scores online with over 90% at the time on sites like RottenTomatoe where the audience gave it a 95% score of acceptance, not a small score at all form online review sites where there is always a troll scoring 1/10 just because...

At times it felt a bit flat, Dune for sure lack that a human touch in other words the only person you see smiling almost through the entire movie is Jason Momoa and probably because thats just him but everything during the movie is disaster, the Atreides family gets distroyed with only Paul and his mother surviving by the skin of their teeth, since the moment they were send to take over Arrakis it was a setup.

Talking about Arrakis, this is a planet that will transport you specially if you are watching on VR you will feel like sophocating, this is for many reasons, first they got the Spice Melange a dust they mine and its on the desert surface where you got the giant worms, toxic dust used on ships as fuel source and its a valuable resource although very toxic for humans, Arrkis natives live in the desert using a suit that preserve every single drop of water the body expel they are called Fremen, with all this details you all of the sudden feel that YOU would not make it a day on that desert.

Going a bit into the cast we got Timothée Chalamet plays the character of Paul Atreides, by the way I have read that he is a fan of the original “Dune” novel. There is also Rebecca Ferguson, dazzling as Lady Jessica Atreides, I liked her participation in the Mission Impossible films and Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides. Oh, we can't leave behind Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho and Zendaya as the brave Chani, I think they all give a stellar performance.

I can't give my opinion on the 1984 version although some suggest its better than the 2000's series but after second part everything can change, part two is schedule to hit theaters on March 1, 2024 and there is a lot of hope into it, Villeneuve's directing skills along with a top-notch cast set the stage, just imagine back into Arrakis but this time for the great final fight against House Harkonnen who were rulling Arrakis making all kind of profits for years, this time Astreides are lead by Paul but he also have the Freemen on his side and like that was not enough the Shai-Hulud, giant worms who live on the desert, Paul even rides one, its going to be sick, the landscapes, sound track, cast.

Not everything about part two is war and the crazyness of the desert with giant worms but there is the story of Paul Astredis who is destine to rule and lead the Freemen, within them he finds the love of his life Chani Kynes, role play by Zendaya, she I remember her for Spider Man movies, she will become a pilar for Paul a link between Freemen and Astredis fueled by a prophecy that could change the story of the planet, the young men who didn't want to be king and was force to do so.

As you can tell recreating this entire stage wont be easy for director Denis Villeneuve and his team with all the crazy details of this desert from the novel, take in consideration special attention to the detail of the costumes, the representation of the creatures and the impressive settings, this movies like others similar are an expirience, I plan going to the movies and then watch it on VR.

Dune: Part One was just the tip of the spear, Part Two goes deeper into the roots of Arrakis, Ecology, politics, religion, culture and human nature of its people giving us a deeper understanding of what they have been through the many years House Harkonen ruled with Iron Fist taking advantage of their planet and people, making them run to the desert and life Freemen. Villenueve have said it himself he is a fan of Herbert novel, he has put all his effort to make this happen for the fans, Dune is intended to go far over been a cinematic master piece but to send a positive message who humans are intended to life free no matter how hard the circumstances can be, nothing can stand for ever not even House Harkonen.

I'm really excited about this movie, as we get closer to the day it hits theaters there will be more content I will try to cover, most likely more scenes will be reveal but this promise to be one of 2024 cinematic jewels.
