Cryptocurrency Superpowers are a reality: Unlock Liquidity with Tokenization.
Keywords: Cryptocurrency, non-fungible, Tokenization & Liquidity
Introduction and background
In my previous article: Cryptocurrency as Super Money due to a Super Power non-fungibility Link I explained my view on cryptocurrency being more then a substitute for money, it has potentialities allowing it to solve pressing economic problems because it has the power of non-fungibility. I described how non-fungibility is like a Super Power and allows cryptocurrency to be more than money, as in Super Money. In that article I introduced the concept of a Tokenizer and Tokenization. So in this article I would like to expand on that introduction and give you some real world examples of Tokenizers and how this cryptocurrency Potentiality is used in the real world.
Tokenization
Tokenization is the process of converting the rights to as asset and it’s value, tangible or intangible, into a non-fungible cryptocurrency token. This token can then be subdivided, traded and stored on a blockchain system.
What Can Be Tokenized?
Anything which can be owned by individuals, companies and governments, even the equity in a businesses, investment funds and the goods or services of a business.
Who can perform Tokenization?
Tokenization is currently performed by several companies, using a software platform which addresses the needs of this process. These companies oversee the Token issuance process paying close attention to regulatory compliance, such as the KYC (know your customer) and AML (anti-money laundering) and providing T&R (traceability and reporting information)for the appropriate governmental organization .
The practical focus of tokenization
This process allows you to convert assets like your stocks, bonds, treasury notes and real estate to non-fungible tokens. Which are digital representations of these unique items, either as one token or as a large group of tokens, representing fractional ownership. An example of fractional ownership being where 1000 people contributing 1000 dollars apiece to own a fraction of a million dollar piece of art. In that situation and each has an equal share of the art and its appreciation, while the owner gets the cash. Alternatively, the owner can tokenize only 49% of the asset, which he converts to cash, while maintaining ownership and control over the asset through keeping 51% of the generated tokens or equity for themselves.
Tokenization companies exist worldwide
While many will think of this as a theory about cryptocurrency being Super Money and using it’s super power of non-fungibility for these marvelous use cases, the reality is different. The reality is that there are companies all over the world using these theories every day to unlock locked up equity and create liquidity.
I have listed below in the references, the names of multiple companies in the world performing Tokenization. And a link to my first article explaining non-fungibility and how this super power makes cryptocurrency more then money, but super money. Post Link
