New and improved

This week I have been enjoying the alpha version of the new Leofinance User Interface.
It’s faster
It’s brighter
The colors are more vivid.

I thought about it while waiting to board my plane.
At the airport there were pictures of older planes that use to fly between the islands and land in the water.
The passengers then climbed into canoes and were rowed to shore.
At the time those planes which landed in the water were an innovation, or something NEW. This innovation allowed air travel to islands which didn’t have airports. At the time this was huge, and it turned practically every island on the planet into a destination.
Looking back it’s hard to realize what a big step forward and time saver this innovation was..

Pontoon Plane Innovation

As I looked at these black and white photos of the first inter island flights, with passengers riding on planes which literally landed in the water 💧 the look on face of the passengers tells a story; they look excited and scared.
They are literally climbing out of a plane onto the wing, and the plane is moving up and down, as it floats in the water.
They literally are one missed step from falling into the ocean.
They then climb into a boat and the crew rows the boat to shore.
I am sure some passengers fell into the water, and arrived at the shore with all their clothes wet.
I think some may have been asked to use an oar and help row the boat to shore, as part of the authentic experience LOL 😂
They thought they were experiencing a modern innovation, technological progress. And they were, but why were they scared and why did some of the passengers end up all wet?
Because progress is messy LOL

As I kept up with the Leofinance Community on Threads and comments, and complaints in the Leo Discord this past 3 days after the release of the alpha version of the New UI or User Interface.
I am reminded that the GUI or Graphic User Interface, as in the pictures or graphics you interact with to do something on the website, are a replacement for DOS commands in the early days of the internet.
And not written language commands, but computer language called DOS.
The Graphic User Interface is an innovation, that allowed web page operation without the user learning DOS commands.
In those days before Graphic User Interfaces you kept a list of DOS commands on your desk, each one corresponded to an action or task for the computer to perform or execute on the web page or beyond.
GUI represents progress and innovation. It opens up the web page and the internet to users who don’t know DOS. And this new and larger population use the internet to build great things.
But GUIs are messy, because innovation is messy.
Innovation is filled with good ideas and bad ideas, plus good ideas and bad execution LOL!
So when you use the New Leofinance UI remember it’s new and innovative, and you are a pioneer.
So you may fall into the water and get all wet.
But your skin is waterproof, you will dry and so will your clothes. So smile, laugh and continue on.
