Re-watching the spaces on X for the hive town hall #3 meeting about the removal of the reward pool from the blockchain, it happens to be a heated argument, while others are in support if the idea, some others are against this based on the many reasons given. Apparently, this topic of discussion is still an idea in the bud, not a decision that is going to be rolled out soon. A speaker just mentioned it and ever since it's been an issue on the hive blockchain.

The hive blockchain has been an immense impact in the growth of the web3 space and the content creators in the ecosystem. One of the major way to promote hive will definitely have to implement incentives as this will boost engagement. To be honest, if this was considered it could drop the platform below par. I see Hive as a place to be able to communicate freely without been banished it.

Although the major aim on why they proposed the removal of rewards on post was because of the fact that it should act as censorship for people who are using generated contents to farm rewards. Also mentioned, is the use of AI generated contents to farm rewards. While in all honesty AI should be used as a tool to be better and developed in our niche rather that exploit it and mismanaged just to put out more posts that gets rewarded. But in view of this, rather than just remove reward pools, it would be great to have teams in place that can fish out such perpetrators just like the hivewatchers are doing.

In my opinion, I believe that the blockchain can Make projects like inLeo to divert the community in such a way that scare off AI and the vote abuse would be 2nd thing that community thinks when they login. Thus, AI abusing reward pool does not mean we terminate hive because of people's ignorance. Many dapp owners would be using AI to write their code, build their games. What would happen then.

Also, the value of an article getting upvotes was discussed... But all the same how do we place the value of a content in regards to the percentage of reward given. Again, the issue of down votes were discussed and in the threadcast people aired their opinions on why a post should be maliciously down voted for no reason just because two whales are at loggerheads. Down votes should occur as a means to regulate rewards or to prove a point rather than show power, especially over small accounts.

In my opinion generally about the reward pool been taken away and all, hive is changing life in many ways, taking hive Ghana for example, lots of projects has being put in place as a result of the reward pool, the installation of borehole waters, educating kids about web3, sponsoring education and so on. So removing it, won't that affect their projects. There are lots of testimonies of how hive has come through for people with financial situations, having to handle medical bills, groceries, educational fees and all.

Hopefully they think this through.
