What is Ice Break?
It's a conversation led by @ice-nfts with his co-host Lil Auntie, which takes place on Twitter Space and is usually about a topic chosen by them to be discussed with the Live participants. And in episode 27 of Ice Break, the topic chosen was: "Are RWA NFT Projects Bridging Web2 & Web3?", covering topics such as usefulness in NFTs.
RWA Projects, NFT Utilities, Web2 + Web3
RWA is an acronym for Real World Assets, which in the context of Live are NFT projects that bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3, with uses that go beyond the crypto world. This, in Lil Auntie's opinion, is what is missing, a bridge that connects Web2 to Web3, so that they can interact with each other.
An example of RWA that Lil Auntie mentioned and that I thought was very good, is Real World Staking, a way for you to earn part of the profit that a project is generating. Still, there is another one that will now be very useful for the Bull Market, which is the invitation to Events. In this sense, we see that the word that many users in the NFT world are looking for is UTILITY
People are getting tired of projects that sell NFTs that only whitelist another NFT project, which whitelists another, in an infinite cycle. What the vast majority want is utility, and what would be even better is for it to not only be linked to the web3 world, but for it to have some interaction with the real world.
Here at Hive we have an example of utility: games. In splinterlands, you own your cards, which are NFTs. So, in addition to having the "art", which NFT projects generally have, you also have the main thing, which is the usefulness of being able to use your card within the game.
And this idea of uniting Web2 with Web3 is what Hive's Zealy aims to do, through quests to promote Hive to Web2 in order to convey the message that you Web2 user can monetize on web3 using the blogs on Hive, like Inleo. RWA é uma sigla para Real World Assets, que no contexto da Live são projetos NFT que fazem a ponte entre Web2 e Web3, com utilidades que vão além do mundo crypto. Isso, na opinião da Lil Auntie é o que está faltando, uma ponte que ligue Web2 à Web3, para que eles interajam entre si.
Um exemplo de RWA que a Lil Auntie comentou e que eu achei muito bom, é o Real World Staking, uma forma de você ganhar parte do lucro que um projeto está gerando. Ainda, tem outro que agora para o Bull Market vai ser bem útil que é o convite para Eventos. Nesse sentido, a gente vê que a palavra que diversos usuários do mundo NFT estão buscando é UTILIDADE
A galera já está ficando cansada de projetos que vendem NFTs que dão apenas whitelist para outro projeto NFT, que dá whitelist para outro, em um ciclo infinito. O que a grande maioria quer é ultilidade, e mais, o que seria ainda melhor é que ela esteja não só atrelada ao mundo web3, que ela tenha alguma interação com o mundo real.
Aqui na Hive temos um exemplo de utilidade que são os jogos. No splinterlands, você é dono das suas cartas, que são NFTs. Assim, você além de ter a "arte", que os projetos nft geralmente têm, você também tem o principal, que é a utilidade de poder usar a sua carta dentro do jogo.
E essa ideia de unir o Web2 com o Web3 é o que o Zealy da Hive tem como objetivo, através de quests promover a Hive para a Web2 a fim de transmitir a mensagem que você usuário Web2, pode monetizar na web3 usando os blogs na Hive, como o Inleo.
