Gotham started it's first season in 2014 and ended its run with a fifth season in 2019 spanning a whopping 100 episodes.
We see the tv show through the eyes of James Gordon played by Ben Mckenzie before the days when he became the famous police commissioner. James Gordon is an honest police man and works really hard for a living. He has a girlfriend in the form of Leslie Thompkins played by Mornena. Baccarin.
However these are dark days of Gotham city which is ruled by corrupt politicians and the whole city is under control of mafia gangsters. James Gordon has to go through a lot of trouble every day of his life to seek justice for the oppressed and help the people who find them selves the victim of these gangsters who run the city. In each episode we see James Gordon fight his way through each battle and try to solve a new case.
Gotham shows the death of Batman's parents and we see a small Bruce Wayne through his teenage years who is really a troubled child but is brought up by his handy butler Alfred Pennyworth.
But if you think this show will not have all the roster of villains we usually associate with batman you would be wrong because in this TV show we get to see all the villains in their full glory. From the joker, to penguin, poison ivy, cat woman, and many other famous characters from the batman show are at full display here.
This show focusses a lot on the back story of not only James Gordon but also detective Harvey Bullock, cabwoman, the penguin, the Riddler, Lucius Fox and even the great Carmine Falcone.
Gotham tv show has so much depth and variety in it's beautiful written characters that you will be hooked to this show from the first season till the end. We also see the growth of batman from a teenage boy to wearing his full batman suit in the last season as well.
This Tv show has a lot of things going on for it, from costume designs, to locations, brilliant acting, and variety of stories all mixed in one city is amazing to watch.
I will give Gotham tv show a 10/10 and would recommend you all watching it especially since Penguin trailer dropped and it will be released soon this year on HBO you can enjoy some Batman related lore in this one till then.
