How Tournament Purpose Changed

When I do believe that tournament is a great way to get the best players on the same battle, to win the precious reward after the hard fight, I think that tournament's purpose has been adjusted a little bit.
Let's take a look at some tournament with great prize, that I just tried to participate yesterday.

This tournament named Gobson Masters Bronze GF, is a tournament with amazing prize that not just required staked sps and power, but also a very limited cards, because there is only 1 edition allowed (alpha edition) that just having few copy of the cards, and what's makes it even more hard to join is the gold card edition limitation. I mean the regular alpha itself already having little copies, and now they add it with the gold limit.

With reward are guaranteed until the 64th position, the participant are just never goes after it. It is understood because everyone can't have these summoner and monster due to it's limited circulated. Who would've pay hundred or thousands dec just to rent the complete set of it (and it would not even complete, because that limited cards, and the owner would've use it for the tourney as well).

So instead of try getting the best fish out of big pool, this tourney in my opinion is just throwing the big food into tiny pond, with the winner are hardly goes to normal players because it's too hard to cope up with the cards due to the limitation. It is understood that developer needs a way to makes people want to invest, so I guess this is how they legalized the action to pay the exclusive investors.

Can We Earn From It ?

Well, I would say yes, but it will needs a little luck for that 😂
Because there is only few participant , we have big chance to win the 67 sps reward, but only on some condition :
#1. There is enough summoner and monsters on the market.
Sometimes you would find the summoner on rent market, sometimes with crazy prize, and sometimes it's not even there ! I had the experience for renting the life summoner yesterday, the gap is crazy, you need more than hundred dec for it, but then comes with less than 20 dec a day, and after I rent it, the low prize just no longer on the market.
It's so important to have the summoner, because you can't play any monster without the summoner, not even if you had complete set of monsters ! Unless you got the dragon summoner with ruleset that allow it 😅
#2. The Opponent Fought
Again, with limited cards, sometimes you will find players that are forced to surrender because they don't have the summoner, and sometimes that bad luck comes to you, if you are a rental player like me, you might find a match with the element that you don't have the summoner due to limitation I talk above. Facing at least some rental players giving you chance to win some match, so you could jump a little on the table position to win at least the 67 SPS (on this specific tourney I talked about). But if you found all players with golden alpha owner, I would say you had little chance for that 🤣

Conclusion

Some tournament with major rewards seems designed to be incentives for exclusive investor due to it's limited series allowed. While it's soo hard to win the main prize for rental players, we still had a chance to win less rewards yet profitable. But again, luck is needed because the limitation of the cards cause big impact.
