Is the Threads hype really worth it?

As much as the launch of threads last month may have been exciting due to massive expectations, growth and visibility that its launch was meant to bring to the LEO and Hive community, I could say that there's not much of a difference. Apart from the increase in engagements on LeoFinance by the already existing LeoFinance users, and new users from Hive who haven't yet joined the LeoFinance frontend beforehand, there's not much I can say that was of significance.

Yes, LPUD. You'd probably think about last month's LPUD and how the launch of threads helped make it even more massive than the previous months. That's just it. Simply amplifying what already exists while allowing for more peeps to participate. I know it's all about the ability to see the greater picture and the advantages LPUD provides, which I also appreciate. I'm a fan of LPUD. But point is - Threads didn't create LPUD, LPUD already existed beforehand.

I was initially hyped for the launch of threads, but now not so much. The hype was an overkill and the entire thing didn't even meet up to what it was meant to be - a twitter alternative.

As much as it may have defeated noise.cash by an order of magnitude, I'm beginning to doubt that it defeats twitter. Maybe in the next few decades it will, but for now, it's a No No. The Hype literally created a false sense of excitement and the twitter comparison came forth which is something I'm also guilty of.

TO be sincere, the advantage of censorship resistance, full ownership of content, decentralisation, and earning for microblogging exists which twitter doesn't provide. But apart from that, what else?

I mean LeoFinance, and all other frontend on the Hive blockchain all operate on the basis of the above mentioned (censorship resistance and blah blah), so what different thing is LeoThreads really bringing that doesn't already exist in the blockchain apart from microblogging. Hoping someone answers that.

Claims that LeoThreads provides better visibility is all over but does it provides better visibility to the world out there for your brand or business than twitter? As a content creator, would you be better off promoting your work here or on other social medias? That's the greater question.

Conclusion

In my very subjective opinion, the Hive Blockchain has a lot of potential but is highly underrated since it's still hidden from the real world. LeoThreads aims to bridge that gap, unfortunately, the hype is more than the action taken to ensure wider visibility. It should be less hype, more action, unfortunately, it's quite the opposite.

As a big fan of Threads, I'm ashamed to admit this but regardless of the hype and constant comparison, LeoThreads shouldn't be considered a twitter competition because it's still far behind. In fact, Threads is being publicised via twitter, which proves that there's still a lot of work to be done by me, you reading this right now, and every member of the Hive and LEO community.
