From the time immemorial, the issue of vote buying is being done or accomplished through means of cash at hand system. This is the process whereby, during the day of election you will just see one unanimous person coming down to a polling unit and then start sharing cash to voters in order to buy and change their mind on who they wanted to vote for. This has been happening ever since the scenario of electoral processes in Nigeria. It has become a common do and a rare don't.

Will the cashless policy brings about any positive impact in the next coming election.

One major reasons why the cashless policy was introduced along side ban on the old note of N1000 and N500 is because many politicians have hoard the old naira to be used as weapons for the forthcoming election in Nigeria.

This has become a common norms in Nigeria electoral processes where politicians buy out people's vote to favour their candidates. This is one of the major reason why the policy was being established, to curb vote buying during the days of election. Because it won't be easy for someone to have large amount of money in his or her account, then start requesting for people's account details and start transferring in order to buy their votes. Additionally, it won't be an easy thing to do. With this policy in place, it should be able to curb or reduce any vote buying during election day.
