There have been numerous updates recently in the community, especially since the new UI. The community members have been experiencing plenty of glitches since the new frontend introduction, and even microblogging has not been that smooth, especially due to the various glitches encountered recently.

But within all this, @khal and his team have been putting up a lot of efforts to make things easier for all users and also make it an “Everything App”, just as promised.

Do we have the “Everything App” right now?

For me, I will say right now we are absolutely closer to it than ever before, with countless of updates now in the community, activities are absolutely becoming faster and easier than they used to be. There is an enormous difference between what we have now and what we used to have months back

A brief look at the 14 recent updates done in the Leofinance community

(1) Thread, Comment, and Article Module Update

There is undoubtedly a lot to talk about here. Presently, there are quite some interesting changes to the community's new UI that are certainly making threads and all other activities on it faster and smoother than ever before. Redesigning the thread module at the top really shows how fascinating the community is getting, and giving the Thread interface a new look really looks interesting.

(2) GIFs: GIFs have always been on the leofinance interface before, but they were removed due to some incompatibility issues. Currently, they're back and looking better. Having this back is absolutely another vital Means of increasing engagement in the community, as that's another perfect means of expressing one's feelings without a word.

(3) Emojis: Emojis, just like GIFs too, are back, and for me, I will say they both serve the same purpose: giving expressions and reacting to comments and replies. This is certainly here to make engagement more fun and exciting in the community.

(4) Backend Stuff

There has been a lot of improvement when it comes to Backend stuff in the community, especially in the SSR and broken routes.
All this has been well fixed, which will make activities easier for users in the community.

(5) Performance Improvements

Just as with backend stuff , now that the new UI performance has increased, there are fewer glitches and a constant showing of application errors for both threads and long-form content no longer occur.

(6)Copy Link

This is something we had before; even in the Old UI, it was there, but right now, the new UI has finally added it, making it easier to copy links both on long forms and threads too.

(7) Reblog

This is definitely another feature that has been added to the long form. This will absolutely make it easier for users to reblog interesting content in the community.

(8) Downvote Added to Articles

The war against plagiarism is still on in the community, and bringing back the Downvote feature is technically one thing that was needed and is now back. That will absolutely help to make sure there is absolute control when it comes to content creation and putting an end to plagiarism in the community.

(9)Edit Post

This is quite spectacular; it's not just about long form alone; threads too can be edited. This is something I've heard @taskmaster4450le talked about. For me, I will say mistakes are inevitable, so having this feature back will absolutely help to make some needed amendments to content creation at times.

(10) Light Edit

Unlike the first form of editing feature, which is a full editing feature, the light edit gives users the ability to search for what they want to amend and the area they want to edit quickly and update it instantly. Having this form of editing feature will certainly help users make better amendments to the content they create.

(11) Delete

This was one of the features we had before on the old UI, but now it's back both on long forms and threads.

(12) Beneficiaries Issue

Having to make choices when it comes to the payment redemption process for content created is vital, and amendment has been done in that area too, you can now decide how you want the rewards earned from Upvote to be shared or divided.

(13) Text Wrapping on the Publishing UI

This has also been fixed, and now users can see their content preview very well before publishing.

(14) Announcement Banner

This is absolutely another important update. This is pretty cool and good; it's a better means of keeping everyone in the community updated. Even when you miss any program, the announcement banner pops up at every log-in , that will give you the chance to read what you might have missed during your absence.

What are the most significant updates among the 14 of them?

Almost every update here is significant and vital, but some are quite new, unlike some that have been existing before in the Old UI. The importance of other updates can't be overlooked, as they form part of the process of making engagement faster and more fun both on Threads and Long form. But let's take a look at some new additions: The Light Edit and Announcement Banner

Light Edit: This is definitely one that's new in the community right now; unlike the old form of editing feature, which still exists, having this light edit feature will definitely improve things as it will provide access to quick editing of mistakes on contents.

Announcement Banner: For me, this is absolutely an excellent development. Bringing an end to users' inability to catch up with some interesting updates and information by the Leofinance team is vital, and with this popping up at every login to the community, users will no longer miss any updates coming from the Leofinance team.

Why do you think they are the most important ones?

Just as I have said before, every single update is vital to the growth of the community, especially when it comes to enhancing productivity and engagement, but for me, the Announcement Banner and the Light Edit are things we didn't have before in the community, and having them now has changed the face of engagement both on Threads and long form.

Some Vital Points to Note About These Two Updates (The Announcement Banner and The Light Edit)

(1) Quick edit of errors in content (Light Edit)

(2) Keeping users informed about updates and events happening or coming up in the community (announcement banner)

How many more updates are needed to resolve the current problems that you encounter in the UI?

Honestly, I think some vital ones have been done. I will say the usage of the new UI on Mobile should be worked on effectively. Presently, numerous individuals are still finding it hard on Mobile, especially when it comes to uploading of images.

What other additions (such as gifs, emojis, etc.) should be made for a better UI?

Rethreading of threads is another feature user are patiently waiting for, as that too will help spread across vital threads in the community

Can we have the Short Video feature on Threads too? Just like the 3Speak video, having this will be fun and also make interaction more active. Users can now converse with each other using video in the community.

Having updates like GIFs, Emojis, and the like is outstanding; that alone will help improve microblogging in the community. Now, users can do almost everything they do on Web 2.0 social media on threads.

Share your experience with the new updates.

Virtually have made use of every updates announced recently. This is the best of all updates so far in the community; now users can conveniently sit with their laptops and Mobile devices and experience the Joy of microblogging on the Leofinance community with ease.

Having access to other communities through the Leofinance frontend is definitely something huge to talk about, for me this is a clear partnership between all the hive communities and with the Leofinance new UI kick starting this, it really shows how productivity Hive ecosystem will turn out to be in future.

Discuss the ease of use of the current User Interface for short and long posts.

We can definitely still have it better than what we have right now, but with what we have now, accessing the community is easier, and all updates complement the community interface too. For me, I will say we are 80% close to the “Everything App” that was talked about.

Accessing both threads and long form content is now easier and faster than it was in the previous interface.

Compare the updates with the former ones from different perspectives.

I might not have listed them here again, but all the updates are quite significant. Today on Leofinance, these updates have indeed changed the face of the community, and now threads are becoming more fun to interact on and long form content is becoming more accessible.

It's no doubt that the community is absolutely experiencing one of its best moments compared to what it used to be.

With all these recent updates, it's time we all stood up and welcomed the emergence of the "Everything App"' by the Leofinance community on Hive Blockchain.

Here comes My entry for this week #leocontest, here by invite @luchyl, @kolawole93, and @houseofdavid.
