TON Ecosystem: Built-in Wallets on Telegram

Source

The Open Network (TON) has attracted a lot of investors, developers etc all over the world which made the ecosystem continue to soar higher almost everyday. In my previous post, Post I spoke extensively about the TON Ecosystem.

But today, we will be looking into the various wallets associated with this ever-growing ecosystem.

TON ecosystem has three wallets namely;

  1. TON Beta Space wallet
  2. TON Wallet
  3. TON KEEPER.

These three are unique in operations and that is why I will talk about them one after the other.

TON Beta Wallet: this wallet is seen as a non-custodial (Decentralized) wallet which allows the user to manage funds himself/herself. i.e the user determines how the tokens (money) go out, how the tokens (money ) come in without the interference of the team members of the ecosystem. In this non-custodial wallet, a passphrase is attached to it which is expected of the owner to keep in a safe place and not share it with anyone because if it gets to the wrong hands, the person's funds can be stolen and in fact, the developers of the TON Ecosystem don't have it with them. It does not require KYC (Know Your Customer) once you have have created your wallet, you are good to go on receiving and sending funds. In a nutshell, it offers privacy for her users.

TON Wallet: unlike the first one I explained, this one is custodial (centralized) in nature which means the owner is not in charge of the funds and this type of wallet is susceptible to hacks and security breaches. Using this wallet means the user relinquishes control over her assets just like the conventional banks but there is nothing to panic about because it has some advantages too. It is fast when transacting, it is easy to use and also leverage on KYC (Know Your Customer) with this, everyone is monitored on the exchange platform.

It should be noted that TON Beta Space wallet and TON wallet are both built on the Telegram Messaging app which means trading is made easier for everyone regardless of your knowledge about cryptocurrency and you can start where you are. If you will like to explore these wallets, I have made a video on my YouTube Channel to help teach the practicality of using these wallets on How to create wallet on telegram and the difference in TON Space Beta and TON Wallet.
