Last Friday, December 13, the Blockchain for Humanity Awards 2019 (B4H) were held within the framework of the Latin American Conference on Bitcoin and Blockchain (LaBITconf) in Uruguay, in which several projects focused on providing aid to Venezuelans in the form of donations with the blockchain were awarded.

"Many of the award winners focused on blockchain solutions that provide aid in the form of donations, health care and financial inclusion for the Venezuelan community," said Mary Dawson, B4H associate for Cointelegraph Español.

She had projects such as PolloPollo, VenezVit and Family EOS among the finalists as the main stars of the contest.

The native project in Denmark called Chicken Chicken won the award in the Dreamers Awards, a category focused on projects that are in the process of development.

The solution proposed by ChickenChicken allows for the verified delivery of goods needed by any small producer in a community, from food to personal hygiene items.

VenezVit, was another winner on this occasion, the initiative whose objective is to satisfy the need for life-saving medicines in the most needy people, was awarded for its interest in creating an application that helps distribute donated and recycled medicines to the most vulnerable populations, both in the Caribbean country and anywhere in the world where it is needed.

In addition to the two proposals mentioned above that were winners in the ceremony, the initiative proposed by EOS Venezuela, the project in question was Family EOS, a proposal that seeks to promote the adoption of cryptomonies among Venezuelan families, with a contribution of USD 100 for three months for families benefited by the program, after donations received on its website.

The objective of Family EOS is to build a modern and decentralized economy in Venezuelan territory. The proposal, in addition to financial aid to premises in vulnerable conditions, seeks to motivate university students to be active users within the blockchain sphere, providing the necessary tools to learn and develop solutions in the blockchain.

It is worth noting that the winning projects, in addition to the grants received, will have the endorsement and support of the B4H Foundation throughout the year for the effective development of the proposals.
