It feels so great to be starting the new year ina right way here on hive. I just can't get past the fact that I powered up my account here on the first day of the hive power up day of the year. Yeah! My first HPUD is on the first day o lf the year. What better way is it to start the year.
I joined this beautiful platform just months back and as at when I made my first post. I didn't have any idea on how this place is. I just runned my account blindly. Seriously I thought it was just a matter of make a post and pray for it to be upvoted. Not until I calmed down to read @brittandjosie jossie comment on my Introductory Post. Then I graduated from just posting here to knowing that there was a discord group where I could get more information on how to gradually build my account.
I joined the discord group and after my Introductory Post there too. I asked for help with understanding what resource credit was and of course @thekittygirl was there to help me with some HP through the @rc-assist. In return I was asked to power up my account other than withdrawing first. And as at 00.01 UTC time today. I powered up my first hive and I can't wait to get my first HPUD badge.
Below are a few pictorial steps in how I achieved it.

I logged in to my account and opened my wallet. Already I had 12hives and one if the rules of HPUD is that you power up nothing less than 10hive it you're powering up on the HPUD. But if not you can power up any amount of hive.
I clicked on my hive balance and proceeded to clicking on power up
I put in the number of hive I want to power up
Then I signed it with my private key.
And voila my power up was done. So simple, easy peasy.
I know it might be a little step but it's sure a small step that will lead me into a great journey here on hive.
