The price of urea and other nitrogen fertilizers is going up significantly. As usual it is a supply/demand issue, with demand increasing and the economies emerge from the recessions of the COVID-19 and pandemic and decreased supply associated to rising natural gas prices.
Other nitrogen fertilizers aside from urea include anhydrous ammonia, and liquid nitrogen.
The price of urea was US$ 335 per ton 1 year ago, now it is US$ 885 per ton. Levels this high have not been seen since 2008. All nitrogen fertilizers have followed a similar pattern.
