There's Still Time To Be Part of the March 2023 LPUD Event

It's the 15th of the month. You know what that means. There's still time to be part of the March 2023 LPUD event.

As always, every day (technically) is Power Up Day-- nothing stops us from powering up whatever tokens we have no matter the amount. While this is true, some days are more special than others.

Today is another edition of a monthly event begun by LeoFinance in Summer 2022: LPUD, where LEO is powered up event-style on the 15th of each month. 150 LEO is needed to qualify for the LPUD event.

I'm Not Ready for HPUD (Yet)

Normally Hive PUD takes place on the 1st of each month, and it takes a some minimum amount of HIVE to qualify for this event.

Taking part in HPUD is currently out of reach for me. Oddly enough, I had aped into an HPUM (Hive Power Up Month) badge by posting notable quotations on index cards daily to LikeTu for a month and claiming rewards as 100% HP.

This should be my 5th consecutive HPUM, but due to a faulty mobile hotspot I was out of commission for 2 or 3 days begining on (of all days) Christmas Eve. Due to mobile hotspot troubles, my HPUM streak was reset again, so now I'm at 0 HPUMs on the Hive/HIVE side.

LPUD for Me-- "I Can Do"

Unlike HPUD, LPUD is an event in which I can participate. What I hadn't expected was that there would be months where I could not participate.

Just as for February 2023, I qualified for the March 2023 LPUD Event. This makes 4-in-a-row for me. Due to time constraints, here's my minimally-edited screen capture of my qualifying entry:

For that reason, my LPUD objectives were modest:

  • DONE! -- Have enough LEO to qualify for an LPUD Event; and
  • DONE! -- Do 3 consecutive LPUD events (Streak is at 4).

Now that I have a track record for myself, these are my goals for the 3 LPUDs between tomorrow and July 2023:

  • Have enough LEO to qualify for each LPUD Event; and
  • Do 6 consecutive LPUD events (Streak is at 4); and
  • Increase Power Up to 200 LEO Power.

Why Power Up at All?

Powering up-- no matter how or when-- is how we increase our voting power. Voting power is how we increase the upvotes we give to others, and it's how we in turn receive greater earnings from the upvotes of others.

It is true for HIVE at the base layer, and it's also true for all Hive Engine tokens at Layer 2, especially LEO.

In another time, people of another time placed money into savings accounts to earn several percentage points of interest (unlike the virtually zero percent it's been for at least 10 years), powering up our tokens has the same effect.

Why Power Up on Power Up Day?

On top of this daily powering up of whatever amount we can manage, Power Up Days offer extras to its participants.

In the case of the March 2023 LPUD Event, we can expect the following:

✔️ Huge LEO Power Delegations for Up To 10 People

For some lucky participants in the March 2023 LPUD Event selected at random, huge delegations of LEO for 3 weeks will be awarded:

✔️ And Then There Is The SUPER Bad Luck Prize (SBL)

It's a mystery what will happen for the March 2023 LPUD Event. Below is what happened in February:

Between 20K LP and 100K LP (maybe more? I don't know!) will be delegated by @onealfa to the winner of the SBL

Same rules from the January 2015 edition of the SBL contest apply:

Standard LPUD rules must be followed in order to qualify for The SUPER Bad Luck Prize. Then the SUPER Bad Luck Prize rules must be followed.
Just as for previous LPUDs where he was able to participate, @onealfa adds these rules for the Bad Luck Prize:

👉 No LEO power-down for any reason from 2022-June-6 to the present;
👉 1+ long form blog post(s) at LeoFinance each month featuring LPUD, objectives for that month's LPUD, and reasons for promoting LPUD. It is vital to include the #LPUD tag in each such post.

Did You Know There Is an LPUD Badge?

I didn't know this until Noember 2022 when I earned my first. I thought the badges were only for Hive PUD, but LEO PUD has them too!

While we shouldn't participate in LPUD just to get a badge, it's good to be recognized for our contributions to this and other LPUD events.

Why Promote LPUD?

LeoFinance can always use promotion in order to onboard more Hive account holders. Stated or not, that's always a consideration.

This is even more important in 2023, the year PROJECT BLANK goes live after the community puts the NEW LeoFinance UI through its paces.

This is also good for Hivers and the Hive blockchain. It means greater distribution of the HIVE tokens and the HBD stablecoin. It also means an increase in Hive Power, which is good for all of us.

Promoting LPUD (and, for that matter, HPUD) is also a way to build bonds between our fellow Leos (and Hivers). Those bonds will be important in good times, and more important in bad times.

There's Still Time--

The 15th of March is running out for some people (just not like for Julius Caesar), but enough of the day remains west of New York City to take part in the March 2023 LPUD Event. Even if it's your first LPUD, it gets you closer to qualifying later for bigger prizes. Power up your LEO today.
