SplinterGlossary: Items

When the land expansion will be fully released, battles in Splinterlands will work in two phases:

• Phase 1: drafting and submitting the team
• Phase 2: using the item and spell cards once the lineups of the opponents have been revealed, to influence the outcome of the battle after seeing what lineup the opponent has chosen

Item and spell cards are not sold by Splinterlands but instead produced on specific buildings by the owners of land. Their producers will be able to sell, rent or use them themselves.

Right now, there isn't a clear distinction between item and spell cards in their description and they are treated as a whole. As more details become available, the distinction will probably be made.
