BitterSweet September - Phone Death Day: How to make sure your data is secure and available

First day of the month and trust me, all I wanted was to wish you happy September and to post some nice .. autumny (is this a word?) photos with blue skies and little white clouds

But today is the day that I confirmed that my dear phone has died.

And with it, everything I had in it ..

Ouch!

So this post is actually a reminder to everyone, please make sure you secure your data. Please read some of my advise below and if possible please write down your own piece of advise.

What do you do to secure your content/passwords?

In terms of content / photographs / contacts / videos .. Make sure you create a back up method that is updated automatically.

If you use cloud services that can be a good option (make sure you dont fill the cloud with data - every once in a while gather your data and save it in other discs (and of course take back up of them)

Regarding applications you download ..

Make sure you have a list of your applications especially for the wallets.

Save your passwords and seed phrases on other mediums and if possible keep a physical copy at a safe place.

If you use google 2 factor authenticator, then make sure you save the barcode and if possible confirm it also on another device.

I have lost access to my 2 factor authenticator and now I need to find a way to log in my nexo & coinbase account again

About NEXO

I found this link that is very straight forward

https://support.nexo.io/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000494213

And about COINBASE

Now, you may ask me .. how did you let that happen to you?
I was simply not paying attention to signs that it would soon die, I was too busy to devote time for saving stuff, I did not secure things I should have secured.

Thankfully I have some of my passwords also in other places, thankfully I only had very small amounts in wallets such as Bitcoin.Com (for which I have no seed phrase noted) etc

The technician told me that the problem of my phone is only resolved with replacement of something inside the phone, but that will mean start over all over again - so I will not do it. Instead I plan to buy a new mobile and be much more attentive and protective.

Has something like this happened to you?
How do you secure your data? Your advise will be valuable :))

Thanks in advance!

p.s. Here are some photos too -
This is my face when I heard the phone could not be repaired
