I am currently reading THE NETWORK STATE by Balaji Srinivasan and the first few pages had me recalling Task's several posts about Decentralized Networked-States

The idea of Network State is telling us what can be achieved with Blockchain and Cryptocurrency which we haven't scratch the surface of these possibilities yet.
network state is a social network with a moral innovation, a sense of national consciousness, a recognized founder, a capacity for collective action, an in-person level of civility, an integrated cryptocurrency, a consensual government limited by a social smart contract, an archipelago of crowdfunded physical territories, a virtual capital, and an on-chain census that proves a large enough population, income, and real-estate footprint to attain a measure of diplomatic recognition.
Above is an extract from the book, though I am yet to read the entire book I'd prefer a network state described with decentralization inclusive.
Imagine a world existing digitally in a decentralized manner, a network state with citizens of common goals like we do on Hive where everyone casts their votes for projects worth supporting yet we are scattered geographically around the world.
A network state of this kind can get things done a lot quicker with the aid of DAO funded projects, for those of us on STEEM back then and now moved to HIVE can attest to the fact that developments are happening a quicker rate than the older chain where proposals are either not funded or delayed due to a central authority in charge of the funds. Eventually we saw what transpired with the funds meant for the developments of the chain.
Network State is more than an idea, actions are already being taken towards building digital nations, Afropolitan Network State is one for Africans across the diaspora housing art, sport, finance, technology etc.
Considering the corrupt government Africa boasts of creating new nations where transparency exists, services gets rendered in decentralized manner will go a long way in alleviating poverty levels on the continent.
But isn't Hive a perfect example of network state?
I think it is, being a decentralized social community we already have national communities on Hive, perhaps it is time to take these communities much further creating greater benefits for its members and geographical members like the case of Hive borehole Projects in Ghana with another successfully third launched borehole project.
Talk of DOA, talk of decentralized social media, staking before the crypto space went crazy with Decentralized Finance (DeFi), talk about NFT even Stablecoin and you just wonder isn't Hive the place to be considering it capabilities of being home to so many use cases.
