Weekly savings progress report - Saturday Savers Club - Week 2 2024.

G'Day everyone. With the intention of staying accountable for the goals I have set for 2024, I will try and produce an update each Friday (here in Australia, will be Thursday for most of you) on how I have gone for the week with regard to my main #saturdaysavers goals, along with other progress in crypto.

I intend for these posts to be fairly informal, and just essentially being me blurting out my thoughts, and tracking my progress each week.

This week has been good. Early in the week, I shifted some funds over to HIVE, so I was able to get the week off to a good start and ensure targets were hit this week.

Saturday Savers goals.

Primary goal - 2000 EDSD

This goal is to build up over 2K $EDSD by the end of 2024. For those that have not seen it yet, this post introduces the EDSD token. This week I have added 53 EDSD to bring my total to 102 so far. With 38.5 being the original weekly requirement, obviously this week has exceeded the target. I had a couple of posts pay out nicely, and earn 10 HBD each week for running the @spinvest-leo wallet for @spinvest.

The coming week may prove to be a more challenging one in this regard. I didn't get any posts out this week, except for last weeks savings post. HBD earned from posting is the ideal way to save for this goal, however my content flow has been pretty poor for a while now.

Week 2 was a success, ahead of target again, and already 5% of the goal acquired. The weekly requirement is now just under 38, so I have managed to bring that down again this week. Winning.

102 down, 1898 to go.

Secondary Goal - 10000 HP

Goal number two is to push my HP back up over 10K. This week I hit the target, with 118 HP increase overall. The weekly required was 109, and this target has been reduced to 106.5 already. Again, a lack of content this week will make week 3 harder to achieve. I do have some other things liquid, and a little more Cosmos funds I can bring over later next week, so I should be able to overcome the lack of content and get over the line in week 3.

374 HP added in the first 2 weeks, 5326 to go.

Other goals

10,000 Leo Power

Getting back over 10K Leo stake is my third main target for the year. This week I bought enough off Hive Engine to make up for missing week 1 target, and to make sure I don't fall behind early on in the year. 91.6 required per week. Last week was well below this, so this week I have added 217 to get back on track.

Total of 285 added so far this year, 4515 remaining.

Passive income wallet.

No specific targets here, just add to it each week and don't sell anything except the HIVE income it generates. This wallet (@jk6276.holdings) is my passive income set-up, with the yield being my weekly cash out funds.

Last week, My cash out for the week was AUD 8.33. This week I cashed out AUD 8.47. A massive increase of 14c - woohoo. The HIVE price dropped a bit this week, so in reality increasing the return while price drops is actually a good outcome. Anyway, this wallet is not really a short term play. My main focus here is setting up the discipline that all the EDS, DAB and whatever other tokens I can pick up each week goes in to the wallet, nothing gets sold, and the income is my "cash out money". Not too worried about the actual amounts yet, its the process and the habits forming that is the goal. This is my early retirement fund, with a 5 - 10 year time horizon, so a few dollars each week currently is not really important yet.

Once it starts to become more significant, like $50 - $100, then it will become more impactful in my life. For now its just accumulate mode.

Just for reference, I cashed out 16.316 $HIVE this week. This comprised of:

  • 10.336 Earned from DAB
  • 2.224 from DCity (SIM holding)
  • 1.700 from Beeswap (BXT stake)
  • 0.276 Legion (LGN stake)
  • 0.42 SPI holding
  • 1.36 EDS holding

I'm mainly recording this for my own interest, to see how these numbers change over the year.

So, Week two is in the bag, and my main targets have all been hit. So far so good with my 2024 savings goals. My main challenge, to b e honest, will be sticking with these plans and not deviating. I'm good at making plans, not good at finishing them.

I want to end by expressing gratitude to @hoosie for selecting my last post in the top 4 for the week, and to those that sponsored HSBI units based on that. The Saver of the week is an awesome way to highlight the saving efforts going on, and I appreciate being included last week,

Thanks everyone for reading, I hope you all managed to hit your targets this week,

Cheers,

JK.
