Weekly savings progress report - Saturday Savers Club - Week 1 2024.

G'Day everyone. With the intention of staying accountable for the goals I have set for 2024, I will try and produce an update each Friday (here in Australia, will be Thursday for most of you) on how I have gone for the week with regard to my main #saturdaysavers goals, along with other progress in crypto.

I intend for these posts to be fairly informal, and just essentially being me blurting out my thoughts, and tracking my progress each week.

Saturday Savers goals.

Primary goal - 2000 EDSD

So the first target I set for the Saturday Savers Club is to accumulate 2000 EDSD this year. For those that don't know, you can learn more about EDSD here.

For week one I have bought 49 EDSD. I had a little $HBD ready to go, and bought a little more, and earned some from a post payout, to get to 49 for the week. To hit 2000 by year end, I need to buy 38.5 each week, so week one has been good and I'm ahead of target.

My aim for these goals is to chase them hard, early in the year, so they get easier and easier to achieve as the year goes on. Part of why I am going to do these posts each week is a personal accountability thing, and by getting ahead of these targets I hope to remain focused and on track.

Anyway, week one has been a win, and the goal is on track. Just this one week ahead of target drops the weekly required down to 38.25 per week from now on, so seeing that number drop a little is motivating - already makes the target feel more achievable.

49 done, 1951 to go.

Secondary Goal - 10000 HP

My goal across 2024 is to grow my Hive Power back over 10K. I've been there, and would love to get back there this year.

I bought some HIVE this week using funds from my Cosmos holdings. This enabled me to participate in HPUD for the first time in ages, powering up 200 HIVE on the 1st. Over the whole week, I started off with 4300 HP, and ended on 4556, a gain of 256 for the week. This is well ahead of schedule, with 109 per week needed to make it by year end.

Again - get ahead of the goal early, and bring down that weekly requirement early is the tactic. In this case, the weekly required dropped from 109 to 106.75, a very nice start.

With the extra HP, I increased my delegations to @eds-vote , @leo.voter and @holozing a little. The main reason I'm aiming to grow my stack of HP is to use it in this way. Personally, I don't think I am a very effective curator, so better to delegate to projects that can do a better job, and use the HP to earn other token rewards in the process.

A win here also for the week.

256 down, 5444 to go.

Other goals.

The above are the big two I will focus on for the year, but certainly not the only two. I also aim to grow my LEO Power back over 10K. Currently around 5200, I need around 91.6 per week to get back in the 10K club of lions. This week I fell short of that a bit, with 68 LEO powered up over the week. This means a little increase in how much LEO I need each week from now on. No matter, I will find ways to boost my LEO inflow, and hit this target for 2024.

The other thing I have been working on is building my passive income wallet which you can see for yourself by checking out @jk6276.holdings . I have not set any specific, measurable goals here - the main goal is just to add tokens in each week, and not sell any. The HIVE income these tokens produce gets cashed out - all the way to fiat each week.

For week 1, 2024 I cashed out the grand sum of AUD 8.33 (which is roughly worth $5.60 US). Not a big amount, certainly not life changing. However, I will record this each week and see how it grows (if it grows) over the year. I only really added my newly minted EDS, and DAB in this week, along with a little purchase of SIM to top up to a nice round number of 2million SIM. Slow and steady for this wallet, but I think it will be interesting to document each week how it goes.

So there you have it, a pretty successful week for my main goals here on HIVE.
