Splinterlands: Using Immortalis to beat Llama and Kron

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a summoner called Immortalis and how it can beat the powerful Llama and Kron combination.

Featured Summoner: Immortalis

Immortalis is a earth summoner card that costs 6 mana. This summoner gives -1 Health, void, and shatter. Currently, I have this card at level 2 and it's a very powerful summoner. This reduces the magic damage that I take and the shatter will remove any armor that my opponent has.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Briar Patch and Heavy Hitters. This means that melee damage will take counter damage and stunned monsters will take more damage. There is 44 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, earth, life, or death splinter.

My plan is to use Failed Summoner up front as my tank due the magic reflect ability. Then I followed up with magic and ranged monsters to deal as much damage as possible. I have Regal Peryton as my fastest monster to shatter any armor. With the rest of my lineup, I have some supportive abilities like protect and amplify but it was mainly on dealing more damage.

Round 1

At first glance of my opponent's lineup, I have the speed advantage so I can definitely deal a lot of damage but the biggest problem is Kron in the back.

Round 2

round 2.png

I was able to take out a monster with most of my damage dealers alive. As long as I don't miss too much, I should be fine and the magic reflect has helped reduced my enemies' health.

Round 3

At this point, I believe that I have a high chance of winning this match so long as I don't miss any attacks. I will have to deal with that Kron with last stand and martyr.

I was able to win without missing too much. I am glad that the void cut down that magic damage and gave me enough time to win.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The speed and damage went out exactly like I wanted. The void ability from Immortalis worked out exactly like I wanted and it decreased the damage that I took. This allowed me enough turns to take out that Kron buffed up by the Llama. Speed works out quite well with the powerful ranged monster using this combination.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
