Wealth brings Independence, Economic Stability, & Freedom

When I saw the preview of the movie, The Club on Netflix, I knew the universe was trying to reach out to me and my audience, of course.

Watching the kids try to please their parents by making something out of themselves while juggling the criticism and scorn, I couldn't help but connect.

Pablo had a Trust Fund pending his birthday in six months and tried his hands on every idea he could but always seemed to fail. This was the last chance for him to make something out of himself according to his dad. His dad was longer comfortable funding his multiple failed startup...

Matias looks as though he's living with his mum who is dependent on the checks his dad sends along every now and then. His Mom wants him to make up with his dad so the checks can continue to come in for the two of them...

Sofia is a marketing expert who seems successful to her age mates but she struggles with happiness because she is only living the life her parents want her to.

Maria is one of the hardworking maids in Pablo's house. She looks as though she really loves the boy as her son. She wants to own a house of her own. But her employer does not give a shit about her.

And of course, Jonas, Maria's cousin whom Maria really wants to make sure he becomes something and makes money to help his mom who I think has a terminal disease.

Being born with a silver spoon comes with its shared shreds and danger to a young person's mental space. Waking up to realize that everything you have was given and you did not work a day in your life to own them can have a kind of effect that the less privileged might not be able to relate to.

The latter would think, "Oh, if I had so and so amount of money, I would do this or that." They might think if they had been born with a silver spoon, they would live their dream lives and never have to lift a finger.

But in reality, it doesn't work like that, it's simply, a free lunch, and like Robert Greene says, it always has hidden obligations. You will encounter and struggle with self-doubt because you can't comfortably see how you would be able to do without the cushion that your parents provided. Add a trust fund to the mix and all the bubbles will burst in your face.

Again, the less privileged wouldn't understand that the rich kids have their own troubles because all that money doesn't slide comfortably in their throats. At some point, they have to choke over the words and the snarls of the adults that made it possible for them to live without worries.

So, watching Pablo and the rest of his friends try to build something of their own, my admirable soared. Being able to prove that you can do well even though you have a few silver spoons would not only light up one world but, it will open up the possibilities that you did not see coming if you just sat still, bore the adult's nasty comments and continued to eat from their plates.

Building something of your own will give you an inexplicable amount of confidence. The idea that you might be able to change the course of your life forever with your financial decisions, is something worth chasing.

Like Anne would say, you should do whatever it takes. It doesn't matter if you step on a few toes who try to discourage you in a way to make sure you stay enslaved and have to depend on them.

The beautiful thing about trying to build one's own thing is that once you are successful and you attain the financial scope that you imagined, you will have three things;

Independence

Economic Stability

Freedom.

These were the things that Pablo promised his friends, Maid, & Jonas when he asked them to partner with him to sell drugs using their App, Meet.

I admired his courage but I was reminded of the enhancement that drug money brings to the economy. As Marty's Son said in the movie, Ozark, drug money was the one thing that propelled the economy and even helped revive it during the great depression when banks went bankrupt.

It was beautiful to see another angle and dimensions. This time, selling drugs was going to boost an individual's economic stability. This time it wasn't a nation, it was five individuals who wanted to do something worthwhile for themselves and to make sure that the world heard their name.

If they asked for my support, I would definitely give it to them. Why? I believe in the promise of independence, economic stability, and freedom that wealth brings and you should too.
