Sometime in August, I shared about the Odyssey From Testnet to Mainnet Campaign where participants are tasked to complete certain transactions to test the opBNB network. That included using the bridge, minting Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs), sending Testnet assets (tBNB, USDC, USDT etcetera) between the BSC Testnet and the opBNB Testnet.
The campaign has concluded. The prize pool was $50k and there were over 187k testers. Unfortunately, I was not consistent in my activities so I didn't rank high enough in the leaderboard, hence, I'm one of those who are not going to share in the cash prize.

What to Do Before Minting
Before you will be able to mint, you have to add the opBNB Network to your wallet.

- New RPC URL: https://opbnb-mainnet-rpc.bnbchain.org
- Chain ID: 204
- Currency Symbol: BNB
- Blockchain Explorer: https://mainnet.opbnbscan.com
➡️Add BNB to your opBNB wallet
You will need BNB for gas fees when minting the NFT. If you have available BNB in your BSC wallet, you can transfer some to your opBNB account using the bridge.
There is also a third-party bridge (zkBridge) if you are keen on trying it. Depending on how busy the network is, your BNB will show up in your opBNB account after a few seconds to a minute.
It's Time to Mint
✅Go to this link on Element and connect your wallet (the same wallet address that you used during the Testnet).
Supported wallet include Trust Wallet, MetaMask, OneKey, Bitget, imToken, Coinbase, Math Wallet, TokenPocket, and WalletConnect.
✅After getting connected, make sure you are on the opBNB Mainnet. You will then be able to see if your wallet is eligible for minting or not. One mint is allowed per account.
✅Click on "Mint", confirm and approve the transaction on your wallet. Except for the transaction fee ($0.11), there is no minting fee for the Genesis NFT.
✅You will see this pop up when you succeeded.
✅ To check your NFT, hover your mouse over to the right hand side of your screen. Click on "My NFTs" and you will see your minted Genesis NFT.
At the time of this publication, there were already 99k+ minted. About 3% of the minters have placed their NFTs for sale in the Element Market with a floor price of 0.0207BNB and over 139 BNB in total sales volume.
I prefer to just hold mine and hope it will benefit me in the longer run. That we shall see!
