Impactful Initiatives within LeoFinance

LeoFinance is one of the most active front-ends in Hive. And if you just came aboard, you are probably not aware of the many things being done around here, not only by the founder's team but also voluntarily by the members of the community who want to help in improving and growing the ecosystem.

These people aren't just waiting for things or change to come, they initiate things to happen on their own accord. And so today, let me share some of these amazing initiatives that I believe are impacting the community as a whole.

LeoGlossary by TaskMaster4450

This is one of TM's great projects that he started 2 months ago and is truly beneficial to the community. It is a learning hub or a reference center for both newbies and even seasoned peeps on cryptocurrency and finance and also of other interesting information.

It is worthy to note that TM came up with it and then went on and continuously worked on it. Now, LeoGlossary has almost 1400 words and it still growing.

Together with @gadrian who is working on the SplinterGlossary for the Splinterlands game and all terms related to it, they are growing the Leo Library (if I may call these as such), steadily and consistently.

The least we can do to help is to link in some of the glossaries in our daily comments and posts.

This will also aid in optimizing traffic into the community and the page's search engine ranking in the long run.

Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog (DCMLB)

Prior to the release of LeoThreads, TaskMaster started this project with the purpose of preparing us for the Microblogging features that was expected to come (ProjectBlank). It also aims increasing engagement in the community. Until today, he is still taking care of this account and stimulating discussions and engagements through different topics.

We can support this initiative by going to the page every day and joining the conversations. It is one great place to discuss some fun and or serious topics about the market and/or current events.

The Daily LEO (LeoVerse Newsletter)

This was launched by LeoFinance's founder Khaleelkazi over two years ago and many thanks to TaskMaster4450 for championing its growth from since it started:

...for more than two years @taskmaster4450 has been handling @thedailyleo and creating amazing compilations made of the most interesting and relevant news in the Crypto & Finance world. This was a task the master took with no upside for him other than helping the Leo Ecosystem grow and get stronger, and well, it definitely worked! - (Source)

Now, the Newsletter is going to be in the hands of ten "volunteers" from the LeoFinance community who will work alternately to send out the best crypto, finance and Hive-related articles to the subscribers.

You can subscribe to the newsletter and receive daily updates on crypto and finance right in your inbox.

Community Pages (Subreddit on LeoFinance)

According to Khal, the idea was from one of the Lions in the community (@jk6276) and because it was a great feature, the LeoFinance dev team then worked on and added them to the UI.

These are like subreddits on LeoFinance. These pages "allow communities, projects and topics to gather in a singular "Hub" and organize their content and engagement." - (Source)

To date, there are 20 community pages within LeoFinance dedicated to different blockchains communities and or topics (Avalanche, Polygon, BSC etcetera). Contents are curated and moderated by several Lions in the den.

To post in these dedicated communities, you can write related articles and using appropriate tags to classify them.

Leo Power Up Day (LPUD)

This was started through the initiative of Eric (@anomadsoul) who is also driven to keeping the LeoFinance community buzzing and growing. He's the man behind the account @leogrowth. The Leo Power Up Day is scheduled every 15th of the month (it started on 15th June) and will keep on month after month and large delegations sponsored by @leofinance and different LEO whales are up for grabs by lucky participants.

If this is your first time hearing about it, check the mechanics here and some new and additional information from this post.

Leo Power Up is simply staking your LEO tokens to increase your voting power which of course determines your curation rewards. You don't want to miss the upcoming 4th LPUD so check it out and prepare for it.

These and several other initiatives are obviously geared towards the benefit of the community in general and to improving, growing and making LeoFinance a progressive community and a true Crypto and Finance hub in the Hive.

So if you're still sitting by the sidelines, come aboard and join us now.
