CLIMATE CHANGE
The world is changing and everything in it is taking an unusual form different from what we used to experience. Climate change are changes in the Earth's climate patterns which can be extended over a period and the effect of these changes can have far-reaching impacts on various part of the economic ecosystems such as weather patterns, sea levels, and human societies, nonetheless,it could affect everything from agriculture and public health to biodiversity and economic stability. Most of these changes are not farfetched as they can be caused by humans ignorance and activities that causes a release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere thereby causing harmful adverse effects on the nation.

For instance, in Nigeria we experience what is called the erratic rainfall patterns. Many states or regions in this country experience a serious and more intense and unpredictable rainfall events, just last year,a neighboring town experienced rainfall that lasted for 5 days, people could not go about their daily activities or hustle for their daily bread, they were all stocked inside their houses as everywhere was flooded. Even on the new we see people lamenting how the erosion and flooding took over their properties and damaged their goods. Although the rain was heavy but the people still had a role to play in ensuring that the occurrence never happen.

Another thing that bring about a climate change in my country is the indiscriminate cutting of trees. Because of greediness there is illegal cutting down of trees in forest , this should be avoided so that it can curtail excessive wind. Also, the most popular one we are experiencing in the country has to do with Increase in Temperature, Nigeria has recorded an overall increase in temperature over the past century, which includes frequent and prolonged heatwaves, particularly in urban areas where houses are build to choke one another with no natural habitat or trees. The hot temperatures can bring about different health issues which would increase energy demands for cooling, and affect agricultural activities.

Ways to prevent climate change in Nigeria

One way we can prevent climate changes would be by Protecting and restoring forests and other ecosystems that act as carbon sinks. This would mean that the government of the country would implement policies that would reduce deforestation activities and go against illegal felling of trees. Also, to achieve this, there should be plans to plant more trees especially in deforested areas, again the Integration of trees and other vegetation into agricultural landscapes through agroforestry practices, can enhance soil fertility, improve water retention which would be beneficial for farmers and the ecosystems at large.

The nation should always deem it fit to pass information and also educate citizens on climate action and the means to avoid them, hence, there should be policies that promote carbon pricing and incentivize emissions reductions. In all, we need a good and active government that would put things and policies in place to tackles issues urgently as they occur so that they would not bring harm to the people.

LPUD

It's #LPUD today been the 15th day of February, the second month in the year 2024. In accordance to my set goals and strategy to grow my staked leo power on the #inleo platform, so far I have been able to keep with staking nothing less than 150leo monthly.

This month I stake 200leo to add to my 2400 leo power, now making it a total of 2600lp

In the course of this new year, the inleo team and devs have done a great job in rolling out updates that makes this community more friendly to use and also beneficial to the users. The introduction of the evergreen rewards were you get to earn leo tokens on posts even after seven days is a great step. The introduction of 22% Apr on delegation and the delegation tiers is remarkable. My participation in the significant lpud event is borne out of leo rewards I earned from ad revenues, delegation rewards, contest rewards, post rewards and so on.

Again, joining the inleo premium subscribers was a great turning point so far as there are many benefits awarded to premium membership alone that is not available to regular members.

I have done my part and I am glad and bullish on the inleo ecosystem.

To join in the inleo Initiative: February Monthly Prompt where there are daily prompts that can aid in writing contents that you are familiar with in the #februaryinleo by @leo.tasks. Check it out.
