A few weeks ago, Splinterlands made an announcement regarding the prohibition of bots in themodern format of the game. Now, over a week later, the modern format has successfully eradicated bots entirely. All battles within this format are now conducted by genuine players. A number of players have expressed their dissatisfaction, suggesting that the game has become even more challenging. This increased difficulty could potentially be attributed to the participation of authentic players. Authentic players predominantly utilize well-upgraded cards when engaging in matches, whereas those who formerly employed bots might have utilized more common and less valuable cards. Bots used to operate ceaselessly, while real players are constrained by their real-world commitments and can only play when they have the time to spare. After the changes I am expecting more bot play in the wild format as the bot owner will try to play in wild form now.
The Bot Ban and the involvement of Splintershards(SPS)
Throughout the years, utilizing bots for effortless gain in the game became a prevalent practice, and numerous players took advantage of them across multiple accounts.
So What prompted the developers to enforce a bot ban? .
The succinct response lies in the strength of the community, particularly manifested in the process of voting on proposals. This is where the significance of SPS (Splintershards), the governance token within the Splinterlands ecosystem, becomes evident, enabling active engagement in DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) voting within the blockchain-based Play2earn game. Players are integral to the game, contributing not only through gameplay but also by actively participating in decision-making processes that influence the game's evolution. The governance token mechanism revitalizes the forces of community strength and decentralization.
Two more proposal has been put for DOA voting for future extend and Prohibit Bot Use In Tourneys and Prohibit Use Of Battle Helpers in Modern Ranked, Tourneys, and Brawls.
The proposal already get good response and both the proposal will be passed when the voting will end the two days form now. The main purpose of the proposals is to To Create Individual Human Competition. Keep in mind the Bots and the Battle Helpers are still allows in the wild format and in the tournaments if the organizer's allows.
My SPS Holding Stats
Their are different ways to earn Splintershards(SPS) inside the game like airdrop (ended), staking rewards, liquidity polls and game play rewards. Majority of SPS I earn are through the SPS airdrop and SPS staking reward with an Annual Percentage Rate( APR) of 16% approx. Additionally, my wallet has been augmented with additional SPS through activities like gameplay, land ownership, and engaging in brawls and getting brawls SPS rewards. Brawls are the good source for earning SPS as well as the Merits.
At present I am holding more then the 87K SPS in my wallet and major chunk is in the staked format which helps me earning the staked rewards as well as as the better daily loot chest rewards after the implementation of the SPS multiplier factor. The SPS multiplier factor accourage the users to stake more SPS for better price and that create a positive environment for the token. The more players staked the token and this helps in reducing the liquid token in the market which ultimately helps in price movement also.
