Being humble and honest with ourselves are among the most important virtues that every successful investor has, and the reason for this is that a person who is able to understand that he or she doesn't know everything is going to ask for help from someone who may be more knowledgeable in that area, and in this way will be able to avoid making mistakes that may cause him or her to ask for money.

It is true that we should be sure of our decisions and decide actively but this does not mean that we should be blind to the recommendations of others and even more so when they are people who may know much more than we do.

Even when we graduate from some prestigious university in a career that we like very much, there is always going to be something that we are not experts in, because there are specializations that people can have and that a person who knows a lot about several things can somehow ignore, and I mean specific things.

For example, the case of an investment in another country but in an area of our expertise in our country, and in this case we can imagine that the laws of the market are handled the same, that we must be aware of important things and that we already know from our experience, but if we lack knowledge of the regulations of that other country and that make the investment a little different from what we know, we can have an investment disaster that we might regret having entered.

This shows us that we do not know everything, even though it is something we could know a lot about, and humility is seen in the way we understand that there is a lot we do not know, but self-confidence is seen in the way we understand that we still know very little, but we know something, and we understand that we can solve any circumstance that comes our way, but taking into account that we may require the support of the person with more knowledge.

If there are consultants it is for a reason, and even if they do not have all the truth in their minds, they can give us some guidance or different way of seeing the situations and that can be adjusted a little more to what we do not know.

Ser humildes y honestos con nosotros mismos son de las virtudes más importantes que todo inversor exitoso tiene, y la razón de esto se encuentra en que una persona que es capaz de entender que no lo sabe todo va a pedir ayuda a alguien que pueda tener más conocimiento en esa área, y de esta manera va a poder evitar cometer errores que puedan hacerle pedir dinero.

Es cierto que debemos estar seguros de nuestras decisiones y decidir de manera activa pero esto no quiere decir que debemos estar ciegos a las recomendaciones de los demás y más aún cuando son personas que pueden saber mucho más que nosotros.

Aun cuando nos graduamos de alguna universidad prestigiosa en una carrera universitaria que nos gusta mucho, siempre va a haber algo en lo que no somos expertos, porque existen especializaciones que las personas pueden tener y que una persona que sabe mucho de varias cosas puede ignorar de alguna manera, y me refiero a cosas específicas.

Por ejemplo, el caso de una inversión en otro país pero en un área de nuestra experticia en nuestro país, y en este caso podemos imaginarnos que las leyes del mercado se manejan igual, que debemos estar atentos a cosas importantes y que ya conocemos por nuestra experiencia, pero si carecemos de conocimiento en las regulaciones de ese otro país y que hacen que la inversión sea un poco diferente a lo que nosotros conocemos, podemos tener un desastre de inversión en lo que podríamos arrepentirnos de haber ingresado.

Esto nos demuestra que no lo sabemos todo, aun cuando es algo en lo que podríamos saber mucho, y la humildad se ve en la forma en que entendemos que hay mucho que desconocemos, pero la seguridad en nosotros mismos se ve en la forma en que entendemos que aun sabemos muy poco, pero sabemos algo, y entendemos que podemos resolver cualquier circunstancia que se nos presente, pero tomando en cuenta que podemos requerir el apoyo de la persona con más conocimientos.

Si existen consultores es por una razón, y aunque no tengan toda la verdad en su mente, si pueden darnos alguna guía o forma distinta de ver las situaciones y que se puede ajustar un poco más a aquello que no conocemos.
