Leyendo las informaciones del Foro Económico Mundial de 2024 en Davos, me encontré con esta analogía que me pareció acertada, ya que la inteligencia artificial (IA) al igual que el motor de vapor en su momento, es una de las tecnologías con mayor potencial para transformar nuestra sociedad y nuestra economía en los próximos años.
Recordemos que la máquina de vapor fue una tecnología clave de la Primera Revolución Industrial, que marcó el inicio de la era moderna, situación que hoy la IA está causando, como bien lo indica Mauren Esquivel:
El desarrollo económico y progreso social de la civilización ha sido impulsado por el cambio tecnológico. Las edades de hierro, de bronce, la revolución verde, la primera revolución industrial (vapor), la segunda revolución industrial (electricidad), la tercera (electrónica), son etapas de la historia que cambiaron a la sociedad y las capacidades de los individuos.
Ahora bien, la IA generativa se entiende como:

Es decir que la IA tiene el potencial de transformar la forma en que vivimos, trabajamos y aprendemos.
